These are the perfect size to get into tight spaces. I have my bigger one that's like a blanket. You don't need something that big all the time especially if it's a small job and you're in a tight space.Here's something they don't tell you. These are also perfect for sweating plumbing pipes. When you are soldering up copper pipes and there's a wall or wood in the area this will protect it from your torch. I have even a smaller version of this that I have used for years. If they would have this size back then I would not have bought the smaller one. With this one you can put it up in one place do what you need to do and not move it when you're ready to sweat the next pipe.

I was under the impression that if something was made of carbon that it would burn. I guess not. I don't know, maybe it is treated with something but, these are just some handy heat resistant blankets for protecting items or parts you can't remove from welding heat, spatter and UV radiation. Light and easy to wrap around and over uneven surfaces. You can even use a bit of painters tape to hold them if needed.
