I tried this cutting disk by making several cuts on a 1/2" square mild steel bar, and I'm very pleased. While it doesn't seem to cut any faster (or slower) than a new abrasive disk, I saw no degradation in the cutting edge at all. An abrasive disk would have lost maybe 1/2" of cutting edge with the same cuts. And then, at some point before the abrasive disk is unusable, those disks will be cutting more slowly as the diameter decreases. So far, I see no reason to doubt the "100x" life compared to abrasive disks. This is admittedly not a comprehensive test, but that will take time. If I find the need to change my review in the future, I'll update it.

Got this for cutting some rebar for planter boxes I'm making and so far this has worked great! The cuts are clean and the blade fits on my grinder exactly as it should. I haven't had an issues, but I've only made a couple planters so far, so I can't talk about how long it'll last, but I will say when I hold this next to my other blades it feels like a similar good quality.

I had never tried a diamond edged metal cutting blade for my angle grinder before, having always used 'normal' abrasive cut off wheels.I knew this going into it, but it is slow in comparison. Not painfully slow, but noticeable. If you are just making odd job quick cuts of metal items this would work fine, eg; hobbies, DIY, tinkering. I happened to need to cut a piece of 3/8" thick 4x4 square tube (steel) to length. I went right back to the regular discs, so for heavier items and fabrication the time trade may be too much. Now, as soon as I used it, I knew it would be great for sheet metal, and things like delicate cuts. it runs much cooler if you keep a light pressure and seems like it will last a long time. There is something more stable/mechanical (in feel) about the way it cuts, making it ideal for those long clean cuts doing body repair, or zipping a bunch of 1/4-20 bolts flush to the nut. For this, it earned a place on my wall.

Review of 4 1/2 in Cut Off Wheel Diamond Cutting WheelI've recently started using the 4 1/2 in Cut Off Wheel Diamond Cutting Wheel for my angle grinder, and I must say, it’s been a pleasant surprise. With its 7/8" arbor, it fits perfectly on my grinder and has proven to be quite efficient. For anyone who regularly works with metal, rebar, steel, iron, or INOX, this cutting disc is definitely worth considering.Performance: The cutting performance of this wheel is impressive. I’ve already completed several projects, and it cuts through metal effortlessly. The claim of delivering 5000+ cuts is not just a marketing gimmick; I found myself making consistent, clean cuts without the wheel showing much wear. It slices through rebar and steel, making it an invaluable tool for construction and DIY projects.Durability: Durability is key with cutting wheels, and this one stands out. I was initially skeptical about its longevity given the price point, but it holds up remarkably well against tougher materials. There’s minimal chipping or degradation, which is a common issue with lower-quality discs.Value for Money: For the price, this diamond cutting wheel offers excellent value. It performs on par with higher-end options that cost significantly more. If you're on a budget but still want a reliable cutting tool, this is an outstanding choice.Ease of Use: One of the standout features is its ease of use. It’s lightweight, which makes it easy to handle during extended cutting tasks. Moreover, it doesn’t produce excessive sparks, which enhances safety, especially for novices. Conclusion: Overall, I’m very pleased with the 4 1/2 in Cut Off Wheel Diamond Cutting Wheel. It combines great performance and durability at a reasonable price. If you're in the market for a reliable cutting disc, this one should certainly be on your radar. Whether you’re working on a small home project or larger constructions, this wheel gets the job done without breaking the bank. Highly recommended!

If you compare this to most other metal cutting diamond blades on the market, there's one major notable difference, and it certain impacts the usefulness of this blade. This blade only has 8 segments. Most decent blades from Diablo, Hilti, even Rigid have at least twice that number of segments for hard metal cutting. Why? It dissipates heat having more segments. So, I tested this blade on 2" angle iron and 3/8" and 1/2" rebar. I had no problems cutting those dozens of times each and there is no noticeable degradation in the edge of the blade. So I'm happy with this blade when it comes to short cuts when I'm not continuously cutting long lengths of thick metal. I'm not willing to try it on thick metals and long cuts. I have little doubt that it would overheat the blade and severely limit its lifespan. That being said, I knew that when I ordered the blade. Knowing it would be used for short cuts and not used all day long, I knew this blade was right for me. I'm pretty satisfied and would certainly buy it again.

This has a fairly deep rim of diamond dust and makes for a quicker job of cutting metal bars than any standard composite cut-off disc, and without nearly as much heating. I can't vouch for 5000 cuts, only about 30 on 1/2" steel and a few 5/8" rebar, with no degradation, less fireworks, and produces a very clean cut. It's worth 4X the price of a regular cut-off disc just in the time savings. alone.
