I purchased this divider for laying out stones on eternity rings, and marking concentric lines for ring bands. I was concerned for the price that the quality was going to be bad. Over all it's a great divider.The only issues are my points weren't lined up perfectly which was easily fixed with a file and a polish.And the depth screw get finiky from time to time. This is easily fixed with a little 3in1 oil.I was going to buy a set of sterrett dividers but figured i would give these a try for the price. Glad I did.Would recommend

I use this to make circles of course, but I also use it to cut say, HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) into circles.Also there is the 'measure and mark' technique where I set the distance between the points.Then I hold 1 point against the edge & drag the other 1 down the surface.It is a good way to measure & mark up to an inch or 2 from the edge like for ripping.When I 1st started doing sheet metal work I was shown how to set the span of the points, say 1/2 inch & by dragging 1 point on the work & the other on the edge to make a line 1/2 inch fro the edge.This my second 1, I misplaced my 1st 1 & it hasn't turned up so I bought this 1.

Adequate for its intended purpose. Points could have been better sharpened. Overall length 4 3/4". Will be using for marking dovetail layouts. Price is commensurate with its quality.

Compass came extremely sharp at the points which is perfect for what I'm using it for which is making jewelry and assuring the spacing between the patterns are the same distance apart. Came with a nice black coating. It is very sturdy so far from what I can tell it is very accurate and it functions perfectly. It is a little smaller than I anticipated but it is actually a perfect size for what I need it for. The smaller it is the easier to handle.
