Prefer using these shorter ones for a couple of reasons. I cook A LOT. These are Very sturdy for steaks and heavy meats. Clean up easily, and I really like the "teeth" at the end. Only if I cook with sugary sauces does the sauce kind-of stick on the teeth. It's easy to clean, though. They FIT BETTER IN MY UTENSIL DRAWER, and are narrow enough to NOT GET Stuck when I open the drawer. Fit nice in my hand, and I'm not having to fiddle with some "dangely thing" on the end, that tries to lock it when I don't want it locked. And with four of them in the package, I don't have to wash "one" each time while I'm cooking several dishes in one meal. Hope this helps...

These worked very well for a KBBQ party we hosted. They washed nicely and are compact enough to avoid taking up unnecessary space when storing!

Love these. Are they the best quality? No, but they are convenient and gets the job done. Wish they had the locking mechanism to keep them closed for storage

Sometimes you don't know if something is sturdy and gonna hold up. I am going to get more of these. I am very happy that these aren't cheap and flimsy. This is a great addition to your catering, dinner party, picnic, etc. It is not a waste of money at all.
