If I learned one thing from sizzler it’s that you should never eat the chicken wings on the salad bar. But if i learned 2 things, the second would be that steaks taste exponentially better when served hot on a hot cast iron plate. These do the trick perfectly and for a great price

The first thing I did when I got these is season them with canola oil. I heated them for 20 min. on a low heat burner. I then put one of them on a burner with oil on it and let it preheat. I then let them cool and wiped the oil off with a paper towel. When I tried to cook, I dropped some pancake batter in the middle of the plate and when it sizzled, I spread my batter on the pan. The pancake did not cook around the edges but the middle browned. I then tried cooking a quesadilla with the same result. So these are either too light to heat evenly or require time and seasoning before they heat evenly. However, they will keep food hot and the wood base comes in handy. I use them to hold hot plates when I'm eating hot food. The handle for the plates is a little funky, but it is usable. These would make great gifts for single people.
