This is my second automatic litter box and I LOVE it! The first box was a rake-style automatic cleaner from Els Pet and it had several design flaws (don't recommend it!). I've had this Catlink box for almost 3 months and it is truly well-designed. It allows for very easy bag removal, has minimal clean-up needs (unlike the Els Pet which was a nightmare!!) and is quite uncomplicated. There is NO odor -- I use a high-quality clumping clay litter and add a little Coir Wonder Cat Litter Deodorizer (you can get it here on Amazon) to it and I NEVER smell odors usually associated with a litter box. I change the waste bag about every 7-10 days, but it could go longer since it's pretty big. I also bought the entry pedestal which makes it easier for my cat to get in/out and it catches any stray litter stuck to his paws. The only problem I've had is with my very curious cat wanting to go inside while it's turning in a cleaning cycle. Once I shoo him away, it resumes the cycle. It's large, so you'll need ample space for it. LOVE this machine and HIGHLY recommend it.

So there's a lot to love about this litter box:1) It's super quiet - I don't even hear it until the giant PLOP of solid litter when it's emptying.2) Storage capacity is awesome - I have two cats and could probably leave it for over a week without changing.3) Ease of setup is awesome - the instructions are clear and there's only 2-3 steps, I don't even remember because it was that uneventful.4) Litter box quality is awesome - The lining is made of rubber so it's inherently less sticky. The tray to catch the waste also has a raised center so it doesn't pile up in the middle. They thought of everything with this!We've only had it for a month and we're obsessed. I'll update this review if that changes at all.

Overall purpose:for litter robot the ultimate goal is free my hand. This robot fullly fulfill this purpose, I can totally don't pay any attention to the cat litter for a whole week, great work for robot.Design:It pre-set the auto cleaning mode whch is that After 3 mins cat use it, it atuo run it to roll the box to pour down the excrement. It's very intuitive even without app feature. But it's very simple to use, you know, most time simply is the best. In addition, When it is running, cat might be curious and step on it, then the error light turn red and it stop rolling immediately by having a very sensitive safty sensor. However, it's has its own programmed way to work, not very clever in every way, read the user manual before set it up and use it.Litter Cleanning ability:As long as your cat is not in diarrhea and using the good clump litter. After two weeks usage, I don't see any sticky "thing" stick on the robot surface in auto mode. Don't add the litter over the max line, othereise you will waste clean litter for sure. Don't ask me how i know it…lol.Odor control:Before I just used a big litter box with lid on it, barely i can smell ordor. For this robot, it has open entry, i can smell odor when cat use it, but what surprise me is that after running, used litter rolling in its litter box, because of the filter and sealed design, i barely smell odor neither, even better than before.This robot works very good even though not perfect. Hope the good job could last. Totally worth the purchase.

Having more than 1 cat gets so stinky so quickly and this really eliminates the odor. Changing the tray every few days is so much easier than scooping. I wish I would have gotten this years ago! I reduced one star because the original base did malfunction fairly quickly, but Catlink customer service did ship me a replacement which has been working well. This really is a must have for cat owners

Update: 2/26/25I now have 3 cats and live in a new home and still love this litterbox! Absolutely no regrets or issues even after ~a year later. Highly recommend this still.Since the only place I can have a litter box for my cat is in my room, I wanted something that would help keep the odor down. This works amazing, is very quiet, and I do not have to worry about litter box smell in my room anymore (even with frequent scooping, it still always smelled after a stinky kitten poo). I set this to manual for the first few days so my kitten could get used to it without spooking, and once he was going in it well, I switched over to automatic. I recommend going to press the run button a few times a day when you set it to manual so your cat has more opportunities to get used to the movement and sound, as well as keep it clean for your cat.My only complaint, is the cord does NOT stay in very well, and my cat accidentally bumped it out mid cycle. This ended with urine in just sitting in there (I put some litter over it to soak it up) and my cat pooping right outside his box (not his fault, there was no litter for him to go in). I had to tape the plug down, which seems to help. Don't feel it deserves a full star off for that though, so I still give this product 5 stars. You also really have to fight to get a different sifter in, but at least it's in there good lolI use clumping wood pellets and that seem to work fairly well in this. My cat was having some respiratory issues that I thought could be because clay litter, and started the switch with no issues. Be prepared to lose a bit more litter than you would with clay, unless you get a litter with smaller pieces (I use OkoCat and that brands offers litter with smaller pieces that I might switch to instead of the larger pellets) which you might have more success with. IF you want to try wood based litter, make sure it's clumping litter, or it won't work though. There is also a corn based litter by Sustainably Yours that I have heard works VERY well in robotic litter boxes as it forms very hard clumps (many say better than clay litters), just note some cats like to try and eat corn litter.If you're unsure if you should get it or not, I really recommend it! Just make sure you have some good tape on hand for the plug in case yours is also a bit loose lol
