An upgrade to the straight knife machine, Cutech planers use indexable inserts on a spiral cutterhead that performs beautifully on even the most difficult materials. 2-sided inserts to ensure a smooth finish time after time. Designed for optimal performance with the 4-lead screw and patented coupling mechanism, Cutech planers provide the best that benchtop planers have to offer. The Snipe Minimizer is integrated into the basic operation of the machine. Projects made simple from end grain cutting boards to hard maple flooring, Cutech spiral cutterhead planers will thickness your boards to a fine finish. The new board return rollers make transfering the board back to the front a breeze.

I have only used it once since I received it but let me tell you I love this planer. I don't know why I ever bought any other planer's than this one. It is remarkably quiet. It makes the wood feel so soft like it has been sanded to 180 grit paper almost. It did so well with the epoxy. Here is a small project I just did planed recently. The top turned out great.

1. Packaging was great. Given the size and weight, I was expecting some dings in the box. Upon inspection, nothing made it to the planer.2. Only assembly required was to put on crank handle and dust cover.3. I was expecting to have to clean off excess oil/grease before I could use it. None was to be seen anywhere. Nice clean machine.4. Usually you have too fool around with adjusting the table/bed to try and eliminate snipe. It was good to go right out of the box. Ran pine through and the snipe was so minimal that I had to hold it up to the light to see it the first run and then it was gone the second. Ran a couple of cutting boards made of walnut and maple. It did not hesitate and left me with ZERO snipe. Bye bye planing sled!5. Noise level was surprising. Running material through is quieter than when my previous two machines were just turned on.6. Crank adjustments are extremely smooth. No hesitation or popping or jumping.7. Spiral head vs blades is a no brainer. Just shaves the wood down and came out smoother than a baby’s behind.I’m sure something will come up later but I am happier with this machine than I was my last two combined. Give it a few months and if it is still as smooth, I’ll probably end up with more of their equipment.

Good quality for price. Easy-to-use. Not too noisy. Works well especially for smaller projects.

Broken Parts and some previous wood chips. Depth gauge broken. I must have got a previous return. Send it back to cutech this time. I ordered a replacement. I'll give it one more try and modify this review based on the quality and performance.

This planer is a great value for money I checked around, looking at many different planers everything turns out super smooth very little snipe. It takes a little adjustment to get rid of this knife. The only one drawback not the best desk collection be prepared for a little bit of a mess, but I’m willing to clean up the mess for the value.

Shipped quicky, easy set up. Works really well, very nice finish on the slowest setting. Ive been getting some snipe I need to tune out a bit, but putting sacrificial boards before and after saves the boards. Works incredibly well with pine, but harder woods like maple and walnut get a bit of chipping, nothing a little bit of sanding wont fix.

Cut and finish are excellent. Motor noise is loud but comparable to other benchtop planers. The motor noise is louder than the cutting noise. This is a significant improvement from straight knife planers. Depth stops are accurate. The dust collection is not great. My other benchtop planers did a much better job of extracting the chips/dust. I used foam and tape to cover a few gaps, which only helped a little. I prefer the adjusting knob on the top but will get used to the side adjustment handle.
