This review is for the air filled 4.10/3.50 tires by Marathon. I purchased these to replace the skinny solid rubber tires on a hand truck that has ¾-inch axles. Most replacement wheels are designed for â…-inch axles, and the Marathons come with bearings installed for that size. But fortunately, they also include plastic ¾-inch bushings. It is a fairly simple matter to knock out the bearings and drive in the bushings; a little grease on the bushing before pounding it in helps. Each wheel hub has a grease fitting, more on that later, and while there is a groove in the bushing to accommodate the fitting, I elected to remove the fitting instead. There are also a variety of plastic spacers to make a snug fit on the axle. I opted to use my original spacers instead, but they’re there if you need them.As pictured, the bearings are not sealed, hence the grease fitting would make sense. But it is a poor design. The way the fitting is positioned you’d have to completely fill the hub with grease to have any chance of getting the bearings well lubed. Had I kept the bearings, I would resign myself to periodically removing the wheel and shooting the bearing with a quality aerosol lube with a spray straw. As mentioned, since I’m using the bushings, the fitting is pointless. Instead, I just smeared some grease on the axle where it contacts the bushing. Regardless, the bearings are cheap, which is to be expected at this price point, and you can see the deformation from my driving them out of the hub. For more demanding applications, one might be better off getting some decent sealed bearings and tossing the originals. The inner tubes have angled valve stems, which will make inflation much easier. After a few days there was no evidence of leakage. In summary, aside from the mediocre quality of the bearings and the baffling position of the grease fitting, these look to be a great replacement tire. I had a conversation with a rep at Marathon and found the customer service to be top-notch. They also supply flat-free foam tires if that’s what you prefer.

One of the tires on my hand truck failed. This replaced it easily. Not quite identical in appearance but functions perfectly.

These tires worked very well to replace my tires on my dollies. I was not impressed with the plastic shims which I needed for my application, so I ended up buying some actual bearings to use as the spacers which turned out working great.

What can you say about a wheel? It is metal, not plastic. It came inflated which was a great headache saving touch. It had adapters to fit my application as described AND it works ...THEY work. I bought two. They also arrived on time as scheduled (and they were protected better than store bought eggs) Definitely worth the purchase price.

These wheels are an amazing find. They are well built and come with everything you need, even if you have to modify to fit whatever you choose to use them for. Unfortunately for me, they're too heavy for what I needed them for. (I am changing my knee scooter toall terrain, and the excess weight makes it impossible for me to lift, and difficult to maneuver.)

I ordered two of these tire and rim combinations. They arrived in time and the mfgr boxes are labeled exactly the same, indicating the same product number and description: a tire, rim, and adapters. My bad, I guess for not immediately opening the boxes themselves and verifying that the contents matched the labeling. Because one was correct and contained all the parts, but the other - has just the tire.No rim or adapters. Now I'll have to try to scrounge a rim somewhere. Buyer beware. Can't verify Marathon product quality at this point, but quality CONTROL of the content packaging is another story altogether.
