I changed the transmission in my '79 Ford F350 pickup from a C6 to an E4OD and in doing so I had to rework the exhaust system. My truck has a set of headers and a nice 3 inch exhaust system that has been on it for 18 years. The collectors had never been unbolted and didn't leak but after reworking the exhaust pipes they leaked a lot so I decided to give these dead soft embossed gaskets a try. They work great and now there are no leaks. The metal they are made from is very soft but having an embossed ring right around the flange where the pipes come together is what makes them really work. I loosened everything, removed the collector bolts, slid the gaskets in place and bolted it back together, mission accomplished. After a few heat cycles I'm going to double check the bolts for tightness but I don't think they will blow out like a normal header gasket.

I have had very good with these. They seal well and most importantly they last, you can even take it back apart and reuse them. They also don't make a mess and come off clean from the pipes. I recommend these!!

Fit right and seal. What more could I ask for from a gasket. I chose copper as I am expecting these to last longer than the standard units you can buy. These will be installed on a 1970 Chevelle with a 496 big block and 3" exhaust. The car is driven about 1000 miles a year, so these should last forever.
