The directions were incorrect or difficult to read. I was able to construct it because I’m an adult. A kid wouldn’t be able to figure it out unless they were a genius!

I love this tool set. The box is a fairly good size, but is still suitable for a toddler. It does fit everything inside rather snugly, so there is no just dumping things in it and closing it. you will have to make a slight effort to get everything to fit in and for the box to close.I like that this set has some "room" to be used for quite some time as your child grows. They can start with simple things, like using a screw and a bolt to connect a couple of pieces together and advance as their skills develop to more difficult projects. I keep a couple of screws and bolts in a car, and those can keep my toddler occupied for some time (or until he drops one of the pieces!).I also like that the box has a lock. Our box came finished very smoothly, no rough edges or surfaces.It says that it is intended for ages 3 and up. Our kid is a lot younger, and definitely has room to grow into using this set. We do watch him when he plays with it, so I would be careful if you purchase it for a younger toddler. We had no issues with it so far though.Overall, this is a great toy for development, and for keeping your child away from that screen. Very nicely made too, and would make a great gift. Highly recommend.
