I put the device in my cordless drill motor and it dug into the soil of my garden quickly. It took a few minutes to control it as it goes deep fast. My garden is elevated. Well worth the money as it beats loosening the soil by hand

I am constantly on the lookout for tools and devises that will make gardening easier, faster and more productive and most of all can be used by my wife, who is the master gardener. We start a lot of vegetables inside early in peat pots and then transplant them when the soil and weather conditions permit. We normally dig a 6 x 6 hole and toss the dirt with a mixture of compost and fertilizer and then bury the peat pot and back fill the hole. We are hoping that this Racewill cultivator will make that job faster and easier.I did a quick test in the vegetable garden in fairly damp soil and it did not do particularly well. Our soil has a fairly high clay content and is a bit sticky when wet. Hopefully when it is a little dryer, things will work better, but if it gets too dry it is more like a brick. I think this cultivator would work better in sandy or compost laden soil.Fortunately, I have some older battery drills that we can use to power this tool, because I would be reticent to use my best lithium powered drills to play in the dirt. I don't have much experience with this device yet, but I think it should be used with the low speed setting on a 2 speed drill at fairly slow speeds. You should probably use both hands to hold the drill to minimize the torque reaction if you hit a rock of root, which stops the tool suddenly.I gave this cultivator 5 stars because of the design and quality of the materials and assembly, but might downgrade my review if it does not perform as I anticipate, come planting season.

Dosent work as a rototiller but still churns the dirt pretty well.

First just a little FYI- this does not fit a 1/4" impact driver, but that's probably better. I tried that because it was more convenient than my cordless drill, but once I retrieved the drill just tighten the chuck and start making your hole. This did go right into the fairly compacted soil with a bit of clay-like consistency, it tilled it up for the most part, but there were a few clumps left. Ther is also not a lot of angle to the paddles, so it does turn and break up the soil, most of the soil just stays in the hole. Which is fine, but I needed to have a garden trowel on hand to pull some dirt out to place the potted plants I was working on.

I was very pleased with the way this handheld cultivator works.I will know more in the spring of next year when the raised garden is planted and the weeding starts.
