I own a set of anodized aluminum setup blocks. I like them, but sometimes they frustrate me. They work well enough for setting the distance from saw blade to fence but aren't all that useful/reliable for setting blade height. That's where this gauge shines. Because the guide's multi-legged design allows it to straddle either side of a table saw blade or router table bit, it's very easy to see precisely when high the highest part of the blade or bit registers to the desired step on the gauge. The gauge can also measure chisel bevel angles and drill bit angles, although these will not be quite as useful for me, since I have existing preferred means to determine those things.Functionally, if I had one complaint, it would be that the table saw side of the gauge is limited to 1/8" increments rather than a more practical 1/16". For those situations, I suppose I can just use my 1/16" setup block to bridge the gap, but I would prefer that the sixteenths be built-in.As for build quality, this tool is made from 11/64" (according to my digital calipers) anodized aluminum. That is a good thing, but the combination of this material and the overall design should prompt you to take extra care with how you handle the tool. Aluminum is a softer metal and this tool has several narrow protrusions (drill and chisel gauges) that I suspect could bend if this tool is dropped. No documentation is included, which is an all-too-common occurrence with tools these days. You get the tool in a plastic zipper pouch, and that's it. The purchaser has to come back to the product listing's photos just to determine how some of the product's features are used. I mean, without documentation, I'm not sure many folks would be able to figure out what the drill and chisel guides are for. The 82°, being a common drill bit bevel, might tip off more experienced craftsmen, but people just starting out are not going to know what that means. Similarly, I suspect many will not understand that the 1/8"-2" side is intended for table saws while the 1/8"-1" sides are for routers and router tables.Overall, I think this is a decent and useful (albeit a bit unusual) tool, but it needs a user guide and perhaps a little refinement on the table saw side.

Truthfully, I haven't used this tool to it's capacity yet, but the use I've gotten from it has paid dividends in time savings and repeated accuracy. During some recent projects, I found myself needing to cut matching distances on both my router table and my table saw. I usually use set up blocks to set the cutting height of either tool, but in the recent projects, the depth requirement was a bit flexible, but I needed the table saw and router to match. I used this tool and was able to accurately and easily set the depths. I began to use this tool more often since it is so easy to use. The drawback is that between 1" and 2", the accuracy drops from 1/16" to 1/8". If I need greater accuracy, I got back to the set up blocks, otherwise I prefer the speed of this tool.

This has all the necessary depth measurements that I needed for my woodworking. I have another one from a different company and I checking one against the other to check for accuracy and they matched, so the accuracy is good.

This is a very handy little gauge and I keep mine hanging above my router table. It's made of a solid piece of painted aluminum, with painted-on dimensions. I'd give it five stars if the dimensions were printed bigger, and if they were stamped into the piece so they couldn't be scraped off with use, and if they were on both sides of the piece. Why they aren't on both sides I don't know. But the design is very useful and hard-to-beat. Also, it would be nice if they included a page of directions. This tool measures a lot of things which you can see on the Amazon description page, but there was nothing at all included with it to tell you all these many and varied uses.

It is always a hassle to get an accurate measurement on blade height with my table saw. This makes it really easy. The metal is solid and thick, no chance of it bending or breaking. The measuring marks are clearly printed an easy to read. You can also check router bit height or find the angle of drill bit tips. Very handy addition to my table saw.

I've used saw-sets / depth gauges before, but never had one as well thought-out as this one. Where most depth gauges are able to measure the set of table saw blades and router bits, this one has wide enough slots to be used to set dado bits and wider router bits. The angle guides that help measure bit angles and miters are a great add-on, and the blue anodized finish helps ensure that you won't easily lose it in sawdust and shavings you produce using the tools you set up with it.Get one!

The measurements are very easy to read and understand. Solid construction, very well made. Wish that the measurement markings had an arrow to show exactly where the 3/4" or 1" mark is. That's the only downside for me.
