I had an issue with the original safety line and tried this but its been working great. I had some concerns with the plastic coating but it hasn't degraded in the UV light in any way. I would recommend

Bright yellow jacket makes the cable easy to see and verify it is connected. The coil shape eliminates sagging wire that gets tangled or caught in the tongue jack.Should have bought it long ago.

CON: right away it is NOT 4.5 feet *54 inches) when extended!! Not even close About 44 useable inches. It is FAR to difficult to stretch any further and would probably yank the break away torpedo out of the switch if tried.Luckily I didn't need 4.5 feet. I only needed less than the 44 inches, my toy hauler break away switch is mounted near the from of my A frame and close to the coupler. I used a large carabiner to attach my cable to my tow hitch chain loop holes.

the carabiner is 4 times the size that is shown in the picture I would have to drill a 1/2 inch hole to allow the oversized carabiner to fasten to the hitch

This was of good quality. I returned it because it didn't have the necessary key to plug into the breakaway on the trailer tongue.

This energy break off strap is exactly what we were looking for. We bought a used RV travel trailer and thank goodness we went over all the electric connections and trailer wires. We went to Harbor Freight and Northern Tools to see if we could find it locally thinking it would be quicker then ordering it on Amazon. no go. Amazon delivered it next day and quickly and we bought a second to have as an emergency back up.

Good quality won’t rust out in 2 years like the original one did

well, the description DOES say 'heavy duty'?! And it is. It takes a very strong pull (compared to every other breakaway cable I've used). It's enough of a pull, and especially at a 2 foot stretch while trying to connect the trailer to the towed vehicle, that I'm worried it might pull out my emergency brake actuator while I'm simply driving down the road. It's definitely a strong cable, but- I'm not confident at all in using it. I shipped it back. I recommend you check other reviews on this cable-
