Three of the eight wicks that I purchased were small enough there were gaps in the frame they were supposed to fill. The wicks I have been using for the past couple of years were large enough they had to be stuffed into the frame and made a very tight fit.The downstairs humidifier usually has an easier time maintaining humidity and needs refilled less, but it has been running all day since putting the new wick in and has yet to reach its set point. These seem to be very poor at wicking water as well as poor fitting.

The first thing I noticed about these wicks is the quite different design from the AirCare name brand.These are like more of a dense meshwork, and the name brand is more of a corrugated design. For the AirCare wicks, they seem to have more of a “flow through“ design, and my instinct is that those wicks probably do provide for better airflow along the evaporative surfaces.However, using this brand in practice, I can’t really tell the difference. It seems to empty the water tanks just as quickly as I was used to with the name brand wicks.When I was putting these into my humidifier, the flexible design made it a bit more difficult to get the wick situated, and to put a slight curve in them to fit the shape of the plastic forms that hold the wicks in my humidifier. They also seemed to be slightly too short, leaving a small gap that may allow more air to pass around and avoid flowing through the wick.Overall, pretty happy for the price of these replacements.
