A flange nut is a nut that has a wide flange at one end that acts as an integrated, non-spinning washer. This serves to distribute the pressure of the nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of breaking to the part and making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface.
The flange may be serrated to provide a locking action. The serrations are angled such that they keep the nut from rotating in the direction that would loosen the nut. Because of the serrations, they cannot be used with a washer or on surfaces that cannot be scratched. The serrations help in avoiding the vibration of the nut and increase the holding power of the nut.

These are high quality Flanged Hex Head bolts that came nicely packaged in a lockable container with the correct quantity. They are stainless steel with black finish that is advertised as black oxide, but it actually looks more like a black enamel. This should be good if I need to use the black oxide coated mild steel bolts and the stainless-steel nuts with the black enamel coating.I expect these to get used in the future. I like flange head nuts and bolts because if you want to weld them in place there is a little extra material to work with which helps to avoid deforming the threaded hole. The stainless-steel nuts might be a little more tricky.Great product!

I needed a few more of these for an outdoor project I was working on. They are nice and heavy duty and should handle the weather quite well. They are good quality and also look good with the black finish. I used some threadlock and sprayed it all with an enamel to help them survive the varied Texas weather. No issue using them, no cross treading or binding. Quite thrilled with the quality!

I used the OLSSCMLO M8 20pcs 304 Black Oxide Stainless Steel Flange Nut to secure my solar panel in place, and it did the job perfectly. The product worked as expected, and I have no complaints about it.

This half dozen bag of flange nuts are forged well. 304 Stainless is the most common stainless and is great for corrosion protection. The serrated flange helps grip to other surfaces. This is helpful unless the mated surface is not corrosion resistant, and the flange creates abrasion on the mated surface. But that is more a decision on whether you need serration.The nuts are forged well, and I no issues with them and using my impact wrench to over torque them.The painted finish does chip, so keep that in mind if looks are important.

The OLSSCMLO M8 Serrated Flange Hex Lock Nut, 304 Stainless Steel, Black, is marked with the grade A2-70 and the manufacturers symbol W7. The black finish is chipped, worn, and inconsistent. The finish is dry, not oily.I am using the nuts to build a tower to support a satellite antenna. The quality of the finish is not important to me. I am confident the stainless-steel fasteners will last longer than the steel parts of the tower.

Screwed these on a M10 bolt, and they went on easily and smoothly. Nice package of nuts.
