Works great to replace existing ones with broken springs.

These are the absolute cheapest covers one could buy. Basic garbage.

What with Radio Shack out of business, I had a tough time finding these. They're great for keeping camlock locks (for car engine hood or trunk) and burglar alarm keyswitches weather resistant.

Bought these for use on a truck mounted toolbox. I was surprised these were actually metal, and not plastic with a chrome-like coating. I know the ad says metal, but you can never be sure on Amazon. The ones we received did not have the locating flats, and were just round holes, which we actually prefer as it allows us to place the cover in any orientation. The spring feels a little weak, but I think that is an engineering choice, as cast metal has a tendency to fracture with repeated impacts, like if someone just lets go of the cover and lets it hit the side of the toolbox. Time will tell how well these hold up.
