I have an older VIZ bit where the drill bit broke. In searching for a replacement bit I found this set. They appear to be identical to my old unit but you get all 4 devices for less than just buying the drill bit for the VIX model. Well worth the investment.

I got these primarily for cabinet hinges and they work well for that but I use them for lots of other projects as well. You really should clean them first as mine were packed in some light grease that was inhibiting their performance they were sticky. After cleaning I used some PTFE dry lube. They have been working well ever since. Treat them like you would a drill bit and protect them, they will not handle any hard falls. Even the more expensive one can not handle being dropped, ask me how I know :0

Trying to drill through a prefinished door frame causes the bit to clog and not fully return to the fully recessed position.

I had a set of Rocklers and lost them over the years - bought these. They are horrible. bit gets stuck. bit does not properly plunge. bits seem too big for the guide - to drill the proper size hole for the setting, I had to use one with a guide too small - meaning, I might as well just use a bit without a guide - which, is what I ended up doing. Complete garbage - don't waste your money.

Worth every penny they cost. Have you ever screws in door that do not seat nicely. They stick out at an angle. Well not too many people can center the screw in the hole of the door hinge but these make a starter hole that will always center your screw as long as you fasten it straight in and not at an angle. Many many uses for these bits.

A excellent way to drill for many types of hinges. Takes the guess work of trying to have a accurately drill hole for hinge installation.

I think these could be great except the springs aren’t very strong, so the drilled holes aren’t always as centred as they should be.
