Love the look and functionality, but as noted by some other reviewers, the bottom of the ladder fell about 1.5-2 inches short of meeting up with the lower base plate. relatively easy fix but I had to go to the local hardware store and buy some various steel spacers and longer bolts/ nuts to make up the gap. A cheaper easier fix would be to use a short piece of 2X4 (drilled holes) to make up the gap.Works great now, very solid. Check out Youtube vids on this build, very helpful. If you are a milmally “handy†person, it should work well. BTW… my rack is 80†long on the 4Runner, and this only allows access to the rear, to access the front of my rack I purchased one of those small steps that clip on to the front door latch temporarily to make reaching the front of the roof rack possible… cheap ($6-7 ) and easy solution, I just keep it in the center console and it takes up no room.

The ladder itself is awesome once it's assembled correctly and installed securely. Problem is, the hardware is not the greatest and the instructions ARE GARBAGE. The only reason it got 4 stars is because it is a nice sturdy ladder and the price is reasonable. If it wasn't for the price it would have received 3 stars. You need a decent engineer brain to put this together and make it work because the instructions will not help you. They say things like "use bolt B"... yet NONE of the hardware are labeled "bolt B". The hardware labels just tells you what the hardware is, like "M6x20". Which again, that's fine if you know where you'd need those types of bolts versus M8x16 bolts. Plus, literally one of the steps just says "assemble the ladder in the shape you see" and that's it. Then the instructions are to help install it.Overall. For the price, I give it 4 stars. But again, stupid that the directions can't match their own labels and the hardware is mediocre (may want to go out and buy your own).

Don't pay attention to the revue that says it doesn't fit 5th gen. These ladders are designed to fit tight so they are solid. Leave top bolts loose and leave bolts that go into tailgate loose. The bracket can be easily pulled up on the bottom to get a bolt in. I used the longer bolts that they provided for the step to pull it In then switched to the shorter bolts and tightened everything down. It might take a bit to figure out how to put it together as the instructions really don't cover that part but it wasn't to hard to figure out by looking at the photos on here.

I think this product is built well but the installation instructions are poorly written and lack details needed to complete the task. Additionally the photos on the one page instructions are extremely poor quality and are virtually worthless. As a result you are forced to use trial and error when assembling the ladder extending the installation time dramatically.

Product is very sturdy but the full hinge scratches the top edge of the car! There is about an inch or 2 gap from the ladder and the bottom plate.I would love this ladder if the fitment wasn’t so horrible.

Product is really durable and sturdy. I have my jack and Jerry can on it and it comes with the side step to be able to still use it as a ladder. Was able to install it by myself, just had to leave the bottom bolts loose so that way everything can align because it is a tight fit, but that’s what makes it sturdy. It has two mounting options, either drilling the bottom mount in or if you don’t want it to be permanent you can also use the pinch wield mount. Definitely recommend.

1. Fit was problematic & install shop could not get it to fit correctly so had to space the bottom pieces with washers until a spacer can be made.(That issue has yet to be figured out, so "WEIXIU" adjusted the price)2 the bottom bolts were too long and bottomed out in the enclosed nuts provided.(I was informed that I could have had an incorrect set of 4 bolts for that location. With the spacers that were needed to hold it together the longer bolt length was fine)3. Top attaching plate touches and scraps off the paint on the vehicle due to sticking up too high.(That issue has yet to be resolved, I just ground down the tabs & painted them to clear the body. "WEIXIU" adjusted the price)4. Parts got dinged/scratched up due to breaking thru shipping box.(This is an Amazon handling/shipping issue not associated/blame with the original manufacturer "WEIXIU")5. There was supposed to be an accessory step included and there is not one.(Nothing clearly states this in the description, I know others have received one so this is unclear)6. the nut plates are too small for the holes, they were modified to stay in to do the install.(Per the install shop will fit iifyou rotate them sideways, not clear in the instructions)Overall the unit when installed is very sturdy and seems to be made out of quality materials. "WEXIU" has attempted to make this purchase an satisfactory experience for me and has not hesitated to communicate back and forth on the issues. Hopefully the problems I/shop encounter are rare. I would purchase product from them again based on their proactive support

Instagram: @4runner_la10

There is a gaping 4-5cm misalignment from factory. The ladders will not be able to be installed on a 5th gen 4runner. The bottom ladder piece is way too displaced to be attached to the ladder without a spacer. Do not buy. Check other reviews. Many people with the same issue.
