Definitely hold the pages of the music book well. My son thought I had got more chip clips. They add a tough of color to the black and white page.

These decorated music clips are very pretty and cute. They will probably work very well if you are clipping one or several music sheets to a music stand . However, they are not strong or flexible enough to hold back pages of a thick music book for a pianist. That would require a differently shaped holder made with a strong but flexible material. Still the price point was very appealing and I'm sure my students will love them!

These clips do not open very wide. They help keep a thin music book open (e.g. 40 pages or less), but do not work with a thicker book.

These music clips look a little bit like elongated chip clips. They are sturdy/strong and for typical size music books work pretty well to keep the book open to the page you want if not too thick. I tried it on a thicker piano music book that has 50 soundtracks in it, and I had to put one clip on the thicker side, and then attempt to put a second clip right across the binding to help keep it mostly open (the thinner side was a little askew, but it was open enough to be readable. All in all these are handy tools.

As I suspected when I ordered these, they are basically glorified chip bag clips. But they are better than a chip bag clip. The springs in these have much more resistance so they hold really well. They are also longer than the chip clips I have. The plastic also seems thicker which makes them more durable. While the design and colors are underwhelming, they are appropriate for the intended use. The best part about these is the low price. They are a great value.
