The cable is 1x19 construction, which is very stiff and the best type of cable for hand railings and fences. The cable is T316 grade stainless steel, which is the top grade of stainless and will not corrode outdoors. It is a very strong rigid wire that is excellent for use with hydraulically swaged fittings.
This is the most common wire used to construct balustrading - used by both Professionals and DIY's. Other uses extend to orchard wires,rigging,load tie downs,shade sails,mast stays,standing rigging,rigid architecture.

Inexpensive. Seems to be authentic 316 SS. When on the spool the cable did attract a magnet slightly but when unspooled seemed to lose the attraction.The cable eas purchased for cable railing.

I ordered this steel wire for the purpose of building a staircase, and I ordered it in 3/16†thickness. Unfortunately, I received 1/8†which is a lot thinner than I wanted. I had to return the item, and am waiting on the new cable. The reason I give it two stars is because the wrong item I received did seem high quality and came with a cutting tool, which was nice to have.

Much stronger and a better product than most with fewer strands. Although, I'll only be using it for deck railing, so monster strength isn't a big deal. but it has more strands making it easier to cut and work with. Good price too.
