Overall, I am happy with my purchase. The glass of this flask is thicker and heavier than the one I am replacing. Be aware though that with the thicker glass, it has a smaller stopper size. In my case, I have a custom silicone stopper I use, but it was too large to use with this flask. I was able to modify the stopper that was included with this flask for my purpose, so I am able to use it. Some comments mention the bottom of the flask. I suspect that the larger the flask, the greater the chance the bottom is not flat. With the 1000ml, the bottom of my flask is flat and works well with my stirring plate.

I mainly use this to make yeast starters for making beer. It's a large flask so I can make large starters. It works well on my homemade stir plate. The stir bar has no issues spinning on the glass. I haven't really dropped the flask, but I have banged it around a little on accident. It's held up well and I imagine having it for a long time. This definitely helps me make great beers.

Product is great very clear and strong material but I have to tell you that the packaging of the product was awful. I fill very lucky because I didn’t have to replace it. The box was damaged and only taped. There was no any filling or support around. There is a little chip at the mouth area but doesn’t bother me.

The volume graduations are labeled +/- 5% accuracy, which is standard for this product. Mine was much more accurate than this as measured by a volumetric flask. If such measurements are important to you, you should measure it to know how true the graduations are. The flask stood up to its first applied gas flame when I used it to boil water for tea. One does not need the Pyrex brand name to get an excellent flask. The product itself was excellent, but watch out for that Amazon delivery. They left it on my outside doorstep, right in the path of the swing of the door. If I didn't know that the package arrived and looked al the picture showing the delivery, I probably would have opened the door, sending the flask bouncing down the step to break when it hit the bottom. I had to use another door to go outside to get the package.Amazon should tell its delivery people not to leave ANY package in the swing-space of the door. It is inconvenient for regular packages, and it could lead to breakage for fragile contents. One would think that should be obvious to the delivery personnel, but alas not!

I was a little worried about this 'economy flask' going from direct flame to an ice bath after reading some of the reviews. It's is not Pyrex quality (that's actually an assumption cuz I don't have a Pyrex version of this) but for about 1/2 the price I'm happy with it. The graduate markings on mine begin at 800ml and there are markings every 200ml up to 2L. I've been making a starter with 1600ml of water and 160gm of DME since there is no mark at 1.5L. I've only used this about 4 times and it does exactly what I want...goes from direct heat to ice bath with no problems.I also ended up buying a foam stopper size 46-50mm and it works great. Aluminum foil works fine too (used that the first couple batches).

Good quality glass. Affordable and probably the most useful set of chemistry glass. Don't forget to purchase size 1-7 rubber stoppers to keep the contents sealed.

Never checked accuracy but seemed like a decent product.

Perfect for budding scientists (as I've ordered them for our little one's 9th birthday) or for the real deal. The glass quality is excellent, so I don't feel too worried about small hands knocking them about a bit.I'm hoping these will kindle a science-loving flame -- they definitely impart a bit of a mad scientist atmosphere to our kitchen-age-appropriate science experiments.
