There is nothing really special about this adapter. it is a copy of the DEWALT 514001148 Adapter and it fits the same way on the Dewalt surface planer. You would think that there are so many clones of this because the Dewalt part is too expensive. But, the reality is that this and others are only a couple of percentage points off the Dewalt item price. There really is no reason to buy this unless saving a dollar is that important to you.There is nothing physically wrong with this part. It fits, it allows you to attach a shop vac to your planer. I personally wouldn't connect a shop vac as these generally are lower powered that dust extractors and this planer can put out some really big chips, enough to clog smaller hoses.

J’avais deja remplacé cette piece par un modele d’origine DeWalt plus cher … et qui vient de recasser au bout de 6 mois. Elle est tres fragile. Cette piece de remplacement s’est monté sans probleme et semble donc compatible. A voir a l’usage …A noter que les traces de moulage sont plus visibles sur la piece de rechange non OEM. Peut-etre un fournisseur different !?Je viens de remettre le modèle d’origine en fonctionnement en perçant simplement 2 trous décalés de 90 degrés sur la couronne (voir 3ème photo). Ça se monte nickel et ça devrait être plus solide que l’original et la copie.
