Sennmonn 5/16-18 SAE Thread Repair Kit with Insert HSS Drill, Tap, Counterbore, Installation Driver, 10PCS Stainless Steel Insert 5/16-18X0.450 INCH.Who would use this? So this is obviously extremely expensive, it is a small kit with limited utility and only comes in one size, with just a few Inserts.You have to have a unique need for this and that need is to fix something of much greater value than the cost of this kit and other lower cost options have failed. That is why I got this. I have a tractor with a cast aluminum bodied transaxle. Where the transaxle attaches to the chassis, the bolt hole in the transaxle body is near the edge and it has broken the aluminum off. I have material only 3/4 of the way around the bolt hole. I have tried filling and patching with steel reinforced putty, I have tried drilling it bigger and putting a helicoil in and that has failed too. This insert kit was my last option and it does work. The insert is thick and strong enough that it is retained in the hole even though some of the hole is missing.When the box came it stated on the outside it was a metric set!. I tested it, the inside thread is 5/16-18 coarse, and if you need to know the outer thread is 7/16-14 coarse.Thank you for reading my review and looking at my photos of this product.
