Nice, sturdy weight. Beautiful handle. Sits flat on your countertop for easy tamping. It makes a world of difference from the stock Breville Bambino portafilter with its weird plastic insert.I use an IMS basket, so not sure how the included basket performs. I'm not crazy about their puck screen, but I didn't buy this for the screen at all - my Normcore screen is superior.Overall great value and performance! My only criticism is that the handle could be shorter, but I just unscrew it when not in use and place it at the side of the machine, easy. Here's my experience using it:I have the Breville Bambino. The stock portafilter has two metal spouts with a weird plastic insert inside of it. As I was trying to dial in my espresso, the coffee would sort of sputter out of the spouts irregularly and create these two big weird bubbles. I assumed my puck prep was bad or my grind was off or something, but the time and the taste of the shot were good. Though the texture and crema were a little off. Then I got this bottomless portafilter and used the exact same settings and same basket. I was afraid the irregular stream was going to result in a messy disaster with the bottomless, but as it turns out my grind was perfect I had my shot out in 25-30 seconds, lots of crema, steady unified stream, no sputtering no irregularities. It was just the crappy stock portafilter that was doing something weird to the espresso as it came out. And this bottomless portafilter seems to have improved the texture. So for less than half the price of the competition... this is a fantastic tool.

I like it! Used grinds don't come out as easy, but this portafilter is lighter than what comes with the machine. I like to brew my espresso directly into a travel mug which didn't fit under the portafilter that came with the machine. Also, I like to grind my espresso the night before, and now if my wife needs to make hers before me, there are no issues because we each have our own portafilter.

Beautiful wood handle - comes loose easily but people - just remedy with drops of loctite. Solid construction. Easy to clean. Appreciate the two flanges that allow the unit to sit level on the counter - easy to fill, plus they block some of the spray when my puck prep is off! They make visibility a little tougher, but still ok. Overall great porta filter.

I was looking for a bottomless portafilter that would elevate my espresso game, and this one did not disappoint. Unlike some of the heavier options on the market, this portafilter is beautifully balanced, with perfect weight that feels right in your hand. It's also incredibly well designed, with a sleek, ergonomic design and a pretty wooden handle that adds a touch of elegance. The flat design is truly remarkable - it's stable on the counter and makes tamping and weighing much easier. What's more, the puck screen is thin and the well-distributed holes reduce splashing, making my espresso preparation much cleaner and smoother. I really appreciate the thoughtful details, such as the easy-to-remove handle for cleaning and the unobstructed view of the extraction thanks to the curved side walls. For the price, you get exceptional quality, and I honestly can't imagine needing anything better for my breville . This is an upgrade that delivers on all counts. It's exactly as pictured and also came with a cute keychain. Very happy with my discovery!

Let's just get this out of the way first - the innovative scoop bottom design didn't exactly function to my expectations, and that was a big disappointment. I purchased this little guy with the intention of being able to more clearly and easily see the espresso flowing from my the basket in the bottomless portafilter, to better diagnose any issues with my tamping process, and correct them. Whelp, that just didn't work out the way I'd imagined. The cutout is on the sides of the portafilter, and the home barista is usually viewing from the front, or at an angle, not from the side. Additionally, this portafilter is designed to lay flat, and thus has a longer portion of the portafilter obscuring the basket from the front view, than all the other portafilters I own. So I realized that the function of the cutout shape was probably to create "feet" for the portafilter to rest on, so that it could be tamped flat on the countertop. And for that, it works incredibly well. Perhaps I misunderstood. When I first realized this, when testing the view against my other portafilters at home, I was disappointed, because that was the main feature I was interested in. So that was a surprise, if not a welcome one. However, after using it to make espresso, I'm no longer bothered by that at all. So I have to crouch down to look underneath, it's not a big deal. I do appreciate the ability to tamp without having to fiddle around with a tamping mat, adjusting screws, or adding/removing inserts to bring everything level. With this, you just lay it on the counter and you are set. The design does make it a bit easier - and quicker - to get a level tamp.As a whole, the portafilter is solidly constructed, with beautifully machined metal parts, and a substantial, beautifully polished hardwood handle. The parts fit solidly together, and screwed in and out of the machine extremely smoothly, without any sticking or sliding. When held, it is exceptionally well-balanced, giving the impression of a quality tool that will last a long time. Finally, the proof is in the pudding: while there are many variables to account for, it did produce excellent cup of espresso the very first time I used it, for what that is worth.Nice little touches were evident everywhere throughout the product, as delivered. For example, the engraved, and well-designed company logo on the portafilter handle and puck screen, added to the overall impression of care and quality. Initially, I was uncertain about the unusual puck screen, but after testing it, I was pleasantly surprised. The included filter basket is awesome: ample-sized, with fine holes, and a well-centered pattern in the middle of the basket. Often, it seems the filter basket included with aftermarket portafilters is an afterthought, but not here. And last but not least, the adorable little keychain, sporting a miniature portafilter styled like a Monopoly game piece, brought a smile to my face. All of these little touches and bonus items did indeed surprise and delight this customer. So there you have it. Testing this little guy has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Some surprises were initially unwelcome, but after using this unusual portafilter, it completely won me over. And along the way, I found many things to appreciate. Its turning out to be one of my favorite portafilters in my small collection. I would highly recommend this portafilter for home baristas with a Breville espresso machine.

It’s a nice portafilter, however the handle is a bit large making it difficult for this to fit in any sort of knock box. Probably the only real problem I have with this.
