Both the expandible and tulip hood provide the reasons most people use lens hoods- reduced lens flare, lens protection and increased contrast. However the tulip model really shines with it's ability to rotate independently of the rotation of the lens during focusing. Unlike other hoods, this hood can be rotated around it's threaded insert after focusing allowing the proper orientation of the tulip design in relation to the camera's sensor.Otherwise, I found the insert threads were precise and clean allowing mounting and removing the hoods easily. The plastic (ABS?) material of the tulip model held up to some banging around rocks while photographing during an off-trail scramble. The tulip model can also be reversed.Other than a few test shots, I haven't used the expandible hood but then I don't know if I need it.

These are decent quality rubber lens hoods. I appreciate the ability to extend and collapse it depending on what you need. The only real issue is when fully extended sometimes you can see the hood in the frame, so it can block your lens a bit depending on what type you are using. This sort of defeats the purpose as you can only use it fully extended or fully collapsed, there’s really no in between setting for it. The four pronged hood is nice, but not much better than the standard one that comes with the lens. These are nice overall but I’m considering whether I really need them at all honestly.

First off, the cap and shades fit a lens with a 58mm filter thread smoothly. No binding or other issues.I have tried the package out with a 18-55mm standard kit lens for a Canon digital SLR. The petal hood does not vignette at 18mm, so no worries there. The rubber hood at its full extension (the extension designed for telephoto lenses) does vignette from 18mm to about 25mm on the same lens, but that’s to be expected. I just wanted to see where in the zoom range it would stop vignetting. The middle extension on the rubber hood is okay at 18mm.These hoods are all made from plastic and rubber but the mounting rings seem well made as does the cap.The mounting locks (don’t know the proper word) on the cap can be squeezed to secure/unsecure the cap from either the sides or the middle of the cap. Being able to do this from the middle is convenient if you have a hood installed on the lens where side access would be a problem.So far, the only real issue I have with this set is that the cap tether is not attached “out of the box†and I found it to be quite tedious to install. The “instructions†on how to do this are not clear (to me) and the included photos were very difficult to get any useful detail. The tether is black and the cap is black, which for me, made seeing detail difficult. Better lighting in the photos would largely fix that.What I had to do was cram the string-end of the tether into the tiny hole in the top edge of the cap with this little tool they give you and then fish it out of the little slot beneath the hole with the same tool. Then the elastic end of the tether can be put through the resulting string loop and pulled up against the cap. This is certainly secure enough to hold the cap. But as I said, I didn’t get a lot of help from the supplied “instructionsâ€.I won’t dock the set a star just for that, since maybe I’m a bit dim, but there certainly could be a bit of explanation and better pictures.

Hoods are the reason that I bought this kit and while they aren't the same quality of my Canon equipment, they definitely provide a lot of versatility to lenses in their ability to change the vignette. Alters the amount of light / the path of light into the lens with the different hood styles. Definitely 4/5 stars due to the versatility that it gives your lens BUT, if it had flocking or similar to further diffuse the light, it would EASILY be a 5/5 review.The lens cap is a great back-up to have, I personally wouldn't use it as a primary lens cap unless you have one without a cap but that's only because mine kinda catches unless I pinch it together perfectly in the center of either side, if I do it towards the edges it gets caught until I un-squeeze and try again.

Achèté pour mon lumix S5II et son objectif 20-60mmPour le pare-soleil faut installer l’anneau puis le pare soleil se clipse ( de façon réversible). Il faut juste faire attention à le mettre à l’endroit en grand angle pour éviter le vignettage ( contrairement au pare-soleil original qui ne peut se mettre que à l’endroit)
