My 20 year old Lawnmower was hard to start and I'm not ready to buy an electric mower so after doing some home work on which engines I had I was able to fine the correct Ignition Coil and it in stalled easy. Used 2 business cards to set the gap and worked like a charm. Starts on the 1st pull again.

Perfect fit for my 20 year old Craftsman 6 1/2 HP push mower. Used the spark plug box 2 sides thick for clearence/gap.Watch the spark plug that comes with is about 2mm to longer than the j19 for my Briggs engine. Mine takes a j19 like most Briggs small engines. Well worth the money. Oh ya , I've been using the original plug for over 20 years, wire brush and a lighter every spring does the trick. 4 primer pumps ,1 pull everytime.

The bottom holes were a little to close together to fit on my 1950's vintage walk-behind reel-type mower, so I had to widen them to get this unit to fit. I used a long round file that would normally be used to sharpen chain saws. I put the (new) file in a vise and dragged this unit back and forth over it. The iron is soft, so with patience it is possible to accomplish this, and get this unit to fit, even if the process is tedious. I soldered a wire to the tab, which hooked right up to the kill switch. This "electronic ignition" unit replaces the original "points and condenser " type ignition, without the hassle of removing the pull-to-start mechanism and then pulling the flywheel. I was fortunate, and with the new spark plug, my mower fired up on the very first pull. Your results may vary, but with some modification, this unit worked for me on my vintage mower.

Used this for a trash picked 6.5HP Briggs mower that lost spark. Cheap, but worked well. Would buy again.
