These buckets are NOT air tight. The gasket part that pushes onto the bucket is loose, so it doesn’t matter how tightly you screw the top on. The description says “BPA free†implying that it is a food grade bucket, but every other food grade bucket I have purchased has a label on the bucket that says food grade. These do not. The buckets were stacked and the print from one bucket came off onto the inside of the bucket it was stacked in. I will see if I can return these, but I don’t think the return is free. I may have just purchased very expensive gardening buckets with useless lids…..

These buckets are thick, and the screw on lids are much more convenient than the kind that snaps on. They were bought for storing chicken feed, corn, and sunflower seeds.
