As a home DIY guy, easy to install1. Turn off Breaker.2 Take pictures of how wires are connected3 unscrew the wires4 Push them through the back of the outlet extension4 Reconnect your wires ensuring good connection.5. Screw the long screws included into the bigger hole in the outlet. Tighten .5. Attach your face plate to the top screw holes tightly. With the screws tight the whole assembly will pull against the wall nicely.6 Turn on the breaker and testThis saved me from a wobble outlet that was sparking occasional. Now that the outlet is surrounded by plastic, all safely insulated!!I highly recommend these outlets extensions

I have loose outlets in my garage that I wanted to fix since I bought the house. Drywall was added over boxes that were not installed for that to happen. Everything was loose. This is a fairly clever and easy to use fix. I cut the depth down of the boxes easily and just installed them around the outlets. I didn't even have to disconnect the wires, I just put them through one side at a time. For my setup, the included machine screws were long enough. This is a great and easy fix for a common problem. It gives a little piece of mind as well, as it addresses the entire box and not just the scre length (like spacers).

Did what I needed it to do. It wasn't as sturdy as I had hoped, and I had to go to the hardware store to get longer screws.

No one likes endlessly turning screws, right? However the screws should be longer. I tried to put these on a box recessed in drywall 1/4 in. The drywall was 5/8. The pannelling on top was 3/4. The screw could not grab the box. Needless to say I did what every electrician does, and used a 2 in drywall screw in to the box. The extension ring does the job, but bring longer screws with you. Would have been a five star if longer screws.

At least they are not too expensive. Light weight plastic insert to "cover" wood when installing electrical boxes when the finish material will be combustible (wood) instead of drywall. Supposedly this will keep electricity from arcing to the wood and igniting it if there is a problem in the box. Easy to use. So lightweight that I wonder if they are actually doing anything.

These work just as well as the brand name ones sold at electrical supply stores. I only needed for single gang outlets on a counter back splash, so I can't comment on multigang.

an absolute must for projects where you're adding wall thickness (i.e. tile backsplash) and can no longer get good contact with the outlets and the box. i will keep a stock of these on hand at all times going forward for any big project.

These work great for renos when the electrical box is surrounded by tiles. They even come with longer screws.

We installed a decorative wooden wall in our living room and needed to bring the outlets out to be flush. These worked really well for that. The only caveat is, as others have mentioned, the screws that come with them are not long enough for some reason. I just used #8 2.5 inch common construction screws. They are a different tread type obviously, but tighten in well just the same.

Used this product to extend the electrical boxes for a couple of plugs and one switch so that each one would fit properly after doing a modification to a kitchen backsplash. Still need to apply caulk around the area where there is depth difference between the mosaic and tile but the box did exactly what it was designed to do. I like the fact that these are plastic as this provides a guard against a short between the device and the metal box. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the screws provided need to be longer. If they were 1/4" to 3/8" longer, then they would be more likely to accommodate the additional depth.

Fit well Billy screws should be a bit longer for quartz backsplash.
