I purchased the egg holders to use in watercolor painting. I have my regular watercolor palette with my standard colors. If I need a small amount of an additional color. I use one of the egg holder sections for a small dab of paint. It makes a small little well. It cleans well and does not stain. Oh yes, we do have others to use for eggs. If you are cooking breakfast, and you have four eggs out to cook. I predict one day one of the eggs will roll of the counter. Bad news in the morning! This is the simple cheap solution. And they will last forever. A+++

I started buying fresh chicken eggs from a neighbor who raises chickens. The eggs are slightly smaller than grade A store bought eggs but not much. They fit perfectly in the dishes. I got two small dishes instead of one 12 count dish so that as I used 6 I could stack the holders to take up less room. They’re great. No rough edges as some commented. I love these.

These make EXCELLENT mixing wells and brush rests for watercolor! The ceramic doesn’t stain or bead up, and the sides of each “well†are perfect for scraping excess paint/water off of your brush. They stack together really nicely without touching at the bottom, so you don’t get paint on the bottom of the one stacked on top. They’re really high quality and sturdy, and are a great way if you need to save storage space for paint palettes. Highly recommend!
