This is a fairly large and loud cowbell. It "rings" more than most cowbells and hasa few bell like tones. During handheld use, this one is a bit tricky to muffle toany precise tone, but when mounted, could be "tuned" with tape to get thedesired big cowbell sound. I believe many players, especially drum circle playerswould love the bright, cutting tones this delivers.They've supplied a wooden beater and a mount to attach the cowbell to adrum rim.It's a good cowbell!Hope this helps!
