both filters work great. The charcoal filter needs to be cut to fit but this resulted in getting extra filters and it was easy to cut to fit by using the old filter as a template and a good pair of scissors. Keeps air clean, free of dust and smells.

I like the packaging used to send this product, it seems to have preserved the filters in the box. The Hepa filters fit the unit, but the pre-filters are too large to fit without cutting to size. Looks to be a good investment to keep the air cleaner working well.

We have FIVE HPA300 purifiers around our home that run 24/7... so we go through filters. =) We've tried several different generic brands, as well as the OEM Honeywell filters. Let me start out by saying - this brand actually FITS correctly!! Many of the brands simply do not fit well in the purifiers! It seems like they make them ever so slightly too large (possibly trying to "snug" them in as much as possible?), so they bind up on the edges... sometimes so much so that it folds the edge just enough to allow air to bypass completely unfiltered. In that case - what's the point of even having a purifier in the first place?? The OEM Honeywell filters are not immune to this either as I've found them to do it just as bad - and cost way too much! These Smilyan filters slide right in without any issue. No - they are NOT super tight fitting, but that's just fine! There's a foam gasket on the purifier where the filters press in, and when you activate the purifier it pulls the filter against that gasket to create the seal. The filter DOES NOT need to be wedged in the slot... in fact that could arguably make it worse and prohibit the filter from being sucked in and pressed against the gasket correctly. A+ to Smilyan for taking this into account and making sure their filters are properly sized. They seem to last just as long as other brands as well. The price is certainly right. I'll be back for more in the future!!

This picture is from my first prefilter change after 5 months of use of these filters. Notice how clean the backside is. The main filters still look new. The pre-filter has performed exceptionally well. The only caveat is that they are oversized, so you should lay your original filter over top and trace it with chalk. Then carefully cut a long the line to keep the edges straight. You don't want any gaps or you defeat the purpose. If you do this, your filters will work great. Well worth the money spent and cheaper than original.
