These are a fun water whistle for kids, probably age 5-6 and up and adults too! You fill the bird with water about 3/4 of the way full and blow into them and they sound like a bird is singing. I think they all sound pretty much alike but they might make a fun favor at a kids outdoor birthday party and keep them occupied too. They are made of ceramic so I wouldn't allow kids to run and blow into them at the same time. We even got our dog to come running to it. They all arrived in perfect condition. Another idea I had while writing this review is possibly a wedding favor, color them with gold rub and buff and put the bride and grooms names on them or wedding date and a few baby's breath flowers or other small flowers in them and make them "Love Birds" Anyhow, we were very happy with this purchase.

These are really nice sounding bird whistles - fill em half full with water and vary your breath and one can get many varied warbly bird calls.I bought mine to capture the last notes of Clapton's "Layla" for a concert and the little blue bird captured that sound pretty accurately.Each of the birds provides a different pitch and call and the amount of water can help vary their tone, which is great.Make sure to use water and also to keep the original packaging and protective bubble wrap because they're porcelain and fragile!The tradeoff is a more realistic tone but a greater fragility.I'd recommend for adults only, but your mileage may vary....Very pleased with the bird set!

You need to play around with the amount of water to add.....not enough it whistles but doesn't sound like a bird..........too much water and you have it everywhere. They are a fun item to have for all the songs we sing that need bird whistles. I would buy again.

It took a little time to work out how hard to blow and how much water to use, but these bird whistles sound great! All of them worked out of the box (we did clean them first). Highly recommended.

The Easter baskets that I made for my grandkids this year had a bird theme. I filled them with bird feeders, seed,books about birds etc. My husband jokingly said remember those little birds where you put the water in and they tweet? I said I don’t think they make them anymore. Sure enough I found them!! These are the cutest things and they sound just like birds. They are a top quality ceramic so it’s not a toy They we’re the hit of the day. They kids loved them! My daughter in law wanted one of her own. Five stars.

Fill them up with water and they make beautiful bird sound. Each sounds different. One of the birds did arrived broken.
