Last year we used garden twine, jute, to support our tomatoes. After a short time in the sun and the weather, the jute failed, and we ended up tying and re-tying, losing some of our crop to broken vines. This year we used this plastic twine with the plastic clips and it’s so much better. The clips work well with the twine, it is easy to use and we haven’t had any failures with broken twine.I made some wire anchors out of plastic coated fence, tension wire, tied a loop in the plastic twine and then anchored it at the base of the plant. I tied the upper end to screws in our raised bed trellises, and now as the plants grow, I can attach the clips and support my tomatoes all the way to the top.

I first ordered this twine 4 years ago and I am JUST now needing another box (I plant around 50 tomato plants each year, I individually stake each plant and use a lot of this twine per plant). I also used the twine for pepper plants and tying up various flowers and vines in the flower garden. This twine is awesome -+It's easy to cut.+It doesn't cut into the tomatoes' branches.+It's strong enough to hold up even HEAVY beefsteak tomato branches.+It doesn't degrade or lose effectiveness due to being exposed by the elements (Per year. I'm not sure how it would hold up multiple years).+It comes in a box that you can loop onto your belt.+I never had any trouble pulling out the twine (no knots or hiccups).+You get well over a mile of this stuff for cheap.I'm sure I will order another box in 4 years. I highly recommend this twine for gardeners.

I’ve had this for several weeks and we’ve used it as light weight clothes line for drying art projects, tied between a tarp and posts to make a makeshift canopy to cover our patio from hot sun, as tent guidelines, I used a short section of it with some tape wrapped around the ends as a example shoe lace to replace a missing one in my kid’s learn to tie a shoe activity puzzle and I used it to hang a small weight from the ceiling during construction to create a plumb line. It’s strong enough to not break/fray mid-span under any of those uses and lightweight enough that it has many uses. The only instance where it preformed horribly was being used as a string/shoe lace - it very easily kept splitting lengthwise/unraveling/etc. But given I could cut through it (although not easily) with a set of keys, if it is exposed to friction from rubbing against the edge of something, it would likely fray through and break before too long. The good: it’s inexpensive, it’s strong enough for the intended purpose (and others) and it comes in a bulk rollThe bad: it unravels easily - doesn’t matter if it is cut with scissors or flame, it frays/splits and unravels at the end easily. Often with similar cord the wax or similar coating on the string when heat cut will melt and seal the threads together, this doesn’t. The splitting likely isn’t a huge concern because it will likely be tied at the end or tied to something else shortly after being cut before it splits apart too much.

Just what I needed. I was worried about how it would hold up in the alabama heat, but it's doing great in the garden

Light weight enough to easily tie up plants, but strong enough to hold up the plants. Also comes in a box that you can easily pull the twine out of and keeps it in one place so it doesn't roll away. So easy to use. Very happy with it

As twine this isn't a great option because it's so thin. But as tomato string it's great. And it has a lot of rope like 3 city blocks long. Looks weak but holds tomatos. Color too.

This string is great....there's plenty of it for a great price, it's strong, resistant to the sun, and holds the clips for tomato plants with no slippage. I cannot come up with a downside...it's great stuff!
