Hello, on the surface this shaft coupling appears to be nicely constructed. I used this coupling to connect the output of a 1/4†motor shaft to a 3/8†shaft for a small motor dyno design. As the motor RPM was increased, I notice excessive vibration coming from the assembly. The shafting was supported by 3 bearing blocks which were aligned during assembly, so not the root cause of the vibration. Next, I checked the coupler during rotation and noticed that it was vibrating during rotation causing the entire assembly to vibrate. After disassembling the motor from the dyno, I sighted down the inner holes and noticed that both ends were NOT aligned with each other. The misalignment was so excessive, causing the coupler to flex to extremes during operation. I purchased a new coupling from Heli-Cal and the vibration disappeared.
