The instructions state that it will work with a 97+ Jeep TJ they also state it will work with some Rams. Well, after dropping the tank on our TJ, I can say we have a different type of lock ring, so unfortunately these will not work... but a large pair of channel locks will :-) I guess the best thing to do is to drop your tank first to confirm that this will work versus ordering it and having the tool ready. This will not work with all Rams - we had a 2003 3500 that we dropped the tank on and I can say it did not have this type of pump lock ring either.

IT WILL NOT FIT a Dodge Ram one ton, 5.9l cummins, truck with a black plastic fuel tank and white plastic ring. I have tried and verified, it's not even remotely close to fitting. It will fit a Nissan Titan.Works with 1/2 inch breaker bar. I wouldn't use it with any impact driver.

I own an older Jeep Wrangler. You learn early on that if you own a Wrangler you either learn to turn wrenches or get used to being broke. I went with the former. I've fixed many, many things on my Jeep, learning as I go. I realized not long ago that my fuel pump was likely on its last legs, so I started stocking up on tools to do the job right. When I saw this locking ring tool I had to try it.When you drop the gas tank there's a locking ring that holds the fuel pump in. This tool fits into the little grooves and lets you use a ratchet to remove the ring. It works great! I was able to quickly remove my fuel pump, something that I was worried was going to be much more complicated.Overall I'm very happy with this locking ring tool. It speeds up the job considerably and is well worth the money for it.
