Given that this item's description specifically has 'Chromebook' in the description, you would expect it to fit properly in a (new) Chromebook. But it doesn't. You quickly discover that the connector has to be practically jammed into the device to allow charging to begin, and once you let go, it will immediately disconnect (so the tension / pressure from your hand is the only thing that lets the plug connect to the device). I also tested this in my phone, which has a USB-C connector. Same thing. I then held up the USB-C plug from my OEM charger, and compared it to this one. Sure enough, the silver plug is longer on this one. Gee, maybe I could break out my handy rotary tool, and grind it down a bit? No... not trying that (and you shouldn't, either, if you were unlucky enough to have purchased this product.Now, I had wanted two of these, and Amazon offered a discount on two, as they're starting to do these days, so... I bought two. And I opened the other one up, and tested it, thinking maybe the first one was just a one-off. Nope. Same problem exists. So... this gets a very rare 1-star review from me, and I've been writing them for a few years now. You really have to mess up for me to hand you 1 star, and also say that I'd rate lower, if I could.Since the USB-C cable is hardwired to the inside of the device, there's no way to fix / repair it, either (not that people want to buy products they know they'll have to modify out of the box just to get it to work). And for the people who are thinking... 'instructions followed' ? There is an instruction manual, but after checking it to ensure I hadn't done anything wrong... I'll let you know as a public service that you needn't worry about reading it, because you won't get that time back, if you do.Is this CCC? Yep. We know that when we order products likes this. But usually, products will work for a little while, before they break. We almost expect that, at this point. If it serves a short-term need, we'll often discount that the product breaks after a few uses, etc. But when a gadget has no practical hope of working, out of the box... then you get this type of review. One that exposes a vendor's shoddy design, engineering, parts selection, and worst of all... lack of proper testing. Because if it *had* been tested, this critical flaw would have been noticed. Or... it *was* noticed, and since it was only an operational issue instead of a safety issue, the decision was made to see how many could be sold to people who wouldn't find out until they got them, or put them away for a future use, expecting they'd work (which, really shouldn't be done any more with things you get from here, anyway), and missing their return window, etc., etc. If that's the case, then whoever's responsible belongs roughly in the 9th circle of hell.Have I notified Amazon? Will I get a refund? Yes, and yes. But the experience I had trying to use this, and discovering what the issue was, prompted me to write this and hopefully keep some of you from the same experience of regret and shame I had describing this to you. BTW... this is one of those great products that is sold by multiple vendors with only minor cosmetic differences in labeling, etc. Good luck with the one you choose!

I recently bought this charger and it worked great at first. Out of nowhere it stops charging. The light is on which tells me power is going through the cord but for some reason it doesn't get to the device. It's really frustrating because I just bought it and the return window closed one week ago.Update: customer service was kind enough to reach out to me and help me replace my charger. New charger works great without any issues. I think the original one I received was probably a bad batch or something. Regardless, I'm very pleased with the seller & their customer support so I'm changing my review from 1 to 4 stars

My dog chewed up 2 laptop chargers from Best Buy that were about $35 so I purchased 3rd charger from Amazon much cheaper 50% n now I keep this charger out of reach of my dog. Laptop charger works well n have no complaints
