My work on large power plant parts has me always looking for creative ways to indicate parts round and flat.With these tips on large 4 and 5 axis jobs I haven't found a set up I couldn't indicate within a few tenths. I try to avoid long base arms as they are not as ridgid.I'd rather stretch out the tip. Just seams to workout better. We are an ISO 9001 certified company and I've not had any issue going thru QC great addition to my arsenal of indication.

These dial indicator extensions appear to be a pretty decent set for the money. They are a fairly simple device, but from everything I can tell they appear to be pretty well made. I definitely wouldn't call them Starrett level quality. However considering a single Starrett extension cost as much or more than this whole set, I'm ok with that. They all were well machined and I didn't notice any of them having any issues. They are all straight, decently polished, and the threads are clean. A few of them were a little rougher to screw in than others, but that quickly went away after screwing them in and out a few times. The case they come in is simple, but nice, and more than adequate enough to store and protect them. They all stay firmly in their own little slot. I don't know if they will work with all brands of dial indicators, but they work absolutely fine with my junky Harbor Freight Cen-Tech indicator. If they will fit that cheap thing I assume they will work with any actual decent quality indicator. The only thing I would recommend about them is that you lightly oil them when you first get them. Even though I didn't notice any rust on them, they did appear quite dry and on the verge of rusting. Other than that everything about them seems to be great. I believe with a little basic care that they should work and last for practically a life time. I like them so far and see no reason not to recommend them.

These dial indicator extensions work just fine and get the job done at a fraction of the price of a similar extension from a name brand instrumentation company. Probably not for a professional QA inspection use but perfectly fine for a DIY home machinist or mechanic using a dial indicator for occasional inspection purposes.

The extension rods fit my drop indicators. However, the photo of the contents in the open case clearly shows a threaded adapter (top right). That piece was missing from the set I received. Even though I'm a Prime member and could exchange it for free, its not worth my time to do so. Bottom line: Avoid this misleading product!

Worked as intended, extended my dial indicator for my application, make sure to know what thread pitch your dial indicator tip is before ordering.
