I like these shelves a lot. They’re sturdy, carry a lot of weight, easy to put together and match the description. I would advise though that you use a proper mallet for the assembly if you have one. They provide one in the box which is nice but I found it to be a bit insufficient.Initially I bought two of these shelves but one unit had a bad part. The notch of medal was so close to the bar that it doesn’t allow for the notch to connect with the hole. There was no way to contact the seller so I left a 2-star review with a description of the problem. The seller contacted me almost immediately and offered a replacement. They sent a replacement and I’ve updated my review.

The connectors that were included with the units made it easy to assemble. They are not the heavy duty shelves that some people think they were going to get, but as long as you don’t overload a shelf they work as intended

Horrible product. The metal is very weak and I would compare it to Reynolds wrap. I would say Reynolds wrap is better. Every time I grab a piece to lock it in it would either bend. I should not be able to bend it with my bare hand or it would come loose. I wished I just had one built that would be sturdy. No way this is a steal product! Interesting part is when you put one shelf together and then you have to add another half to place on top of it by using a plastic tea! A plastic tea would not last and securing the top and the bottom. I'm serious my 9-year-old could design a better shelving system than this! I would not buy at all and I regret my purchase because I am concerned that it will fall apart. I don't think duct tape could fix it. I would advise this company to use a thicker metal that actually is better than aluminum and also would recommend the company to use longer eyes to snap into the brackets. A metal tee to fasten both shelves. If they do not want to do that I would recommend using a bolting system of some sort which would be a lot better for that flimsy material. I sent the other cabinet back or shelf and so far, as of today I have not received a refund. Imagine that? I received a partial refund for a product that I never opened up. Apparently, I had to pay $20.00 shipping for a defective product. I will never ever buy from this company again. Reason they don't back there products bc of shipping fee and horrible quality. If someone says it's a good product I would call bs from my experience.

My kit did not include instructions, I could not find instructions online, and this made assembly frustrating. I did figure out a method that got me there, so I guess it is somewhat intuitive. Until it is finished and everything is locked in to place, it is prone to falling apart. There are several key moments where a second person would be helpful during assembly. Once it is all put together and locked in to place, it is more sturdy and stable than most other units. While the shelves are sturdy, I would not put heavy items on the top half of the shelving unit due to plastic pieces being used to connect the top and bottom together. Compared to most wire racks it is more stable and stronger. Compared to metal units with wood shelves, it's strong metal shelves are far superior. I think they are equally stable and strong as heavy duty plastic shelving units, but are a little less expensive as of the time of my purchase. If you want to store heavy items this unit is a good value for the price.

Update: After leaving my review, the manufacturer got in touch and offered to make it right by sending out a replacement shelf. The replacement arrived in excellent condition, and since I knew to be very gentle with it, I was able to get it assembled without damage (literally didn't use any tools and just pulled the parts into place with my hands/body weight). Unfortunately, having assembled two of these shelves now, I can confirm that the shelf is pretty thin and fragile, and that the photos do not accurately represent the actual shelf (vertical supports are about half as wide as the photos would lead you to believe). I am adding a star to my review due to the company's customer service and their efforts to make things right. That said, I think an updated product photo would help a lot with customer satisfaction and expectations. Below is my original review as left initially:Can't recommend this shelf. The metal is very thin, and the posts/slots were mostly bent one way or another which made assembly more difficult than it needed to be. They provide you with a little mallet but it's just a lightweight, all plastic job that just makes a lot of noise. Trying to use it to smack these beams into place is just nonsensical. But it made sense later why they sent it, because when I started using a normal rubber mallet to assemble, I noticed very quickly that the metal was bending, so I had to be very gentle with it which was difficult due to the aforementioned wonk to the connections. It should also be noted that you have to put a shelf in the middle position in order to keep the top section secured to the bottom. I'd planned on using that space specifically for storing a taller item but was unable to do so. I was still able to store the item, just higher up, which made arranging the remaining shelves a bit of a headache. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on doing some irregular shelf spacing. Finally, the pictures are misleading. It represents the four corners as being significantly bigger and more robust than they are. In reality they are only 1-3/8" wide, while in the photos they seem to be at least twice that. So while they're trying to represent the shelf as being a heavy duty, industrial style unit, I wouldn't trust this shelf for anything other than light to mid duty. I'm sure this shelf would bend and warp under heavy use, and I've chosen not to trust it with some of the heavier items I'd intended to store. So, if you're cool with maybe having to bend some parts straight, and are using this for storing paper towels, pantry items, board games, etc., and can get this for less than $50, then yeah you'll probably like it. It looks ok once everything is straight. Otherwise, spend a little more and get something that looks and performs the way it's advertised to.

It's easy to put together and fairly sturdy, especially if you secure it to the wall. You can choose at what height to put each shelf. It's saving us space already and helping us keep our storage organized. It's not very heavy, but because of its size you'll likely need someone to help you carry it to where you want it.
