I ordered four 74" posts and eight 86" posts. I was going to use them with extra shelves I have collected from another source. I was surprised they arrived straight considering the packaging wasn't as rigid as I would have expected. The 74" posts worked great. The 86" post's 1.0" diameters where a little undersized and I had to cherry-pick thru a pile of plastic clips to find ones that would seat the shelf properly. You start to worry if the shelf will handle the load when about 40% of a plastic clip is exposed above the shelf. At least that didn't happen with the 74" posts.

This was a convenient way to purchase four of the 14 inch posts, but the price was rather high compared to other options. I assumed that meant they were better quality, but that was wrong. These are super lightweight thin gauge steel and the chrome plating is ultra thin and inconsistent. The bigger problem is the diameter, which on all four units is less than 1 inch. That means they will insert too far into the shelf hole and wobble even when fully seated. And that is using the correct size plastic collars. In general they scream poor quality from all aspects. Therefore, I cannot recommend these to anyone and especially at this price, which is at least twice what you find alternatives for. All of my other wire shelving is from a company that has container stores and those are top quality.

I ordered 8 of these about a year ago, and they were single-piece 96" poles. I just ordered 4 more, and each pole is two 48" poles with screw connectors. Two of them came out straight after assembly, and two did not.Look elsewhere for long poles.
