For years many years I bought rice that was in a resealable bag for storage. Or, if I bought rice in a non-resealable bag, I would reuse the resealable bag for that rice. Many times I spilled the rice pouring it out of the bag into a measuring cup. Finally, I bought this storage container and I have been very happy with it. Not only does the container have a nice pour spout to prevent spilling when pouring but it also has a convenient easy removable lid that pops off and serves as a measuring cup. I feel that this container was designed by someone who knows what it's like to cook rice. One convenient container that solved a number of minor inconveniences. Brilliant!

This product is very useful for quickly dispensing rice using the cup that came with it. The cup is also used as a lid with rubber seal.

These are the best storage containers for rice!We eat rice a lot and instead of having a clipped bag in the pantry they are in this plastic container. What makes this better than other plastic containers is that it has the rice measuring cup right on it that screws on and stays put to seals it. I have a brown rice one and a white rice one!

After getting a rice cooker I wanted something to store my rice, and after picking this one I know I made the right choice. It's compact but durable, and the container is marked with helpful measuring indicators (cups and kg).This is a Japanese product and so most of the markings are in Japanese or for kilograms (kg) instead of cups/pounds, but I think that adds to its charm. The markings show it can store 2 kg of rice, which is around 4.5 pounds, but I found it took a 5 lb bag of Calrose rice with space to spare.This container comes with a pour spout that's really helpful, and the lid doubles as a measuring cup that holds a cup of rice, and seems to be the same size "cup" my rice cooker and Instant Pot came with. Even better, it's got little guide tabs, so you can screw that measuring cup/lid onto the pour spout. It's a really nice touch to prevent spills.The functionality and design of this product are top notch. I love the little design choices that make it more interesting than just some container to store your rice in. Highly recommended!

Good storage for my rice. My only complaint is that instruction manual is written in Chinese.

I had been meaning to get this for quite some time, but always ended up in the save for later list. Finally did get and happy that I did. Grab it off the shelf, pour the rice in the measuring cup on top and then the water, dry the cup and back in the cupboard. No more spilling from the bag or making a trip for a measuring cup. I know these are not difficulties, it is just nice and easy -- convenient.

Since this is designed for storing and dispensing rice it’s great. The lid is measured for cooking rice so may not be the exact cup as we know it to be. Using the lid for pouring the right amount and using a rice cooker’s cup to measure water works perfect. This way there’s no need to wash the lid. It may be good to use for storing other dry items but if the lid isn’t going to be used for any type of measuring there are other containers that are equal to better than this. I don’t think it’s dishwasher safe though.

I was looking to replace a 5kg rice retail container I'd been using since around the year 2000. Mainly due to worries over the container not being BPA free. Cue the Asvel 2kg rice storage container as seen here (which is billed as being BPA free). I knew it would take a few weeks to turn up (which it did) so no worries about that. The container itself is very well designed, im my opinion. It means you can buy a big bag or rice and pour 2kg a time into it. A good amount of rice to tide most people over for a while, you won't be rushing to refill the container. There are two places to grip the container, so you're less likely to drop it. The lid is rubber sealed and clips on fairly securely. There is a spout from which to pour the rice into the measuring cup provided, which also doubles as a screw on lid. I'm pleased with my purchase, which I consider to be a good quality product for a reasonable price. It looks smart on a pantry cupboard shelf.

One cup measure is the lid. Also has a good handle when lifting from lower drawers. No smell, I usually prefer glass but this works efficiently. Will buy again, the size is perfect for our storage.
