this step down ring is good when you are in a pinch. I typically do not use step down rings as they have more of a chance of altering my full field of view. But in those few scenarios where the field of view is not as important as having that filter, then this is a great option.

I previously purchased a Nikon D7100 and lenses with 77 mm diameter, and all the filters to go with them. Then, by necessity I bought a smaller Sony mirrorless camera due to a medical need for lighter-weight equipment, and the new lenses are only 67 mm, but with this device I can still use my old filters! Just be careful not to bang up or scratch the bits that hang out from the smaller lens!

This works perfectly as a step-down ring. It's light, but the threads are strong, and the machining feels great. I'm not at all worried about stripping out the threads, and everything tightens in super snugly without any grinding at all. The printing quality is also nice, and the entire piece is very minimal, and non-intrusive design.

It works just fine—the thread pitch works with my filters+lenses. However, the threads themselves are more visibly more roughly machined that other filter adapters in my collection. The consequence is that screwing this adapter on/off feels “grittier†than my more smoothly cut adapters.[Disclosure: I received this product for free. It's a step down ring alright. Works exactly how you would imagine a step down ring works.

I actually ordered the wrong thing, I should have ordered a Step-Up ring, this is my first time needing a step ring. I have some new filters that are the right size for this, just not my camera. So I can't speak to how well it goes on the camera. But, my filters threaded in nicely and didn't have any problems. It seems well made and the price is nice as well. Now, I just need to order the right thing!

67-55mm step down means your lens is 67 diameter and you want to put a 55mm filter on it. Basically you are downsizing your lens to fit a smaller filter. Please make sure you double check this as this does NOT mean you are fitting a 67mm filter on 55mm lens (step up ring)
