I use a selfie stick when I snorkel to get closer to the fish without scaring them. I can float on the surface and extend the camera down toward the bottom (in this case WAY down) or under rocks and such. Fish are curious by nature and will actually come up to it, as opposed to a huge, predator-looking person swimming toward them. They usually don't last long, because the salt water corrodes them even thought I rinse my gear after each dive. This is MUCH BETTER QUALITY than the brands I've been using, so it may last longer. It feels heavy duty, like the shell of the GoPro. There is no shutter-trip connection, so the mount connector would work with any GoPro model or any sports camera with that style mount. The extension sections are twist-lock, and they seem fairly stable. Nice, non-slip hand grip. One caveat: if you are going to use this out of the water, it is fairly heavy (again, good quality). Would highly recommend.

Purchased this to mount our GoPro 10 on for our reef dive. It worked great and extends easily and retracts easily all underwater. A big bonus is that it will not rust due to it is made of material that can't rust. That is a must for diving in the ocean.

Important notes: The threads are too far to be able to use the gopro screw and secure the gopro 8, 9, or 10 to this selfie stick. The last thing I need is my camera falling off this extensión rod/selfie stick over a cliff or over the boat.There is a screw and strap in the box it comes in. I only opened the end of the long box and just the monopod came out. I assumed that was all that was in the box and was annoyed when none of my gopro screws were long enough. I went back checked the box sitting in the recycle bin to be tossed out, and shook the box a few times to finally have the screw and strap that were so light and quietly packed in the box come sliding out. This is the only screw that fits the length you need so check the box and do not discard these items accidentally.The handle feels nice and has a good grip.It would have been nice to have the top be an attachment that can be swapped out, like most do to allow you to use a phone mount, or other gopro mounts.

I do videography and think this would work perfect for me. Super long and carbon fiber of course. Slides very easily. Locks very easy. Has a spot for tripod to screw in. Would recommend to anyone. 5 stars

It’s okay, it feels flimsy like it can snap at any second. I didn’t use it in the Grand Canyon from fear of losing my GoPro.
