I purchased this product to fix an electronic opener on a safe. The original cable broke and I needed to replace and connect the new cable. It worked perfectly; usage different than product intention. I have opened and closed the safe more that 200 times now and it works great, I thought it would loosen over time but that has not happened. I could not be happier.

They are solid brass, with steel set screws, so definitely heavy. They add significant drag for a small motor when spinning up/starting up. They seem to be good at clamping onto 2mm shaft. I couls see filing a "flat" into the shaft for the steel set screw to engage if i needed really solid attachment and reducing/eliminating slippage. As a basic hobby coupler they do the job. I would be a little worried if i was looking at over 1000 rpm because these couplers have asymmetry and a high revs might cause shaft vibration.

I really like that they have 2 set screw each side. Coupler is a little bigger than I would like but it’s needed for strength.

Si vous achetez un coupleur ou un joint de 3.17mm pour une convertion de votre moteur, sa ne fonctionnera pas à cause que la tige de l'hélice sera décentrée engendrant une vibration extrême menant à un dévicemant des vices de 2mm et un détachement des pièces connectées. De plus, sur Amazone, des commerçant font passer des pièces de 3.17mm par des pièces affichées mesurant 3mm mais qui mesures 3.17mm. David Messier Attention !

Don't rely on these - I attach them to high-end DC 895 and 775 motors and there is enough of a gap that it moves slightly and anything attached will spin on a wobbly angle. NO GOOD.
