I painted an MDF book shelf board to get a natural and very lightly white washed wood look for my shelves. It looks awesome and gave the boards that perfect light washed look! This was originally a beige MDF board(left side) I used watered down white paint and applied it with a few different wood grain tools for a varied natural grain, then I used a dark brown stain with a very thin brush to outline and fill in the natural knot effects that the wood grain tools made(finished board on the right). So easy and it's just what I wanted!

I painted old un-salvageable hardwood floors using these tools. So fun to do, easy, and quick. I chose dark blue over white and am super pleased with the results. Now, I'm thinking of other projects I can work on using this woodgraining technique.

Just what I was looking for to use when geli printing. I am afraid I will not be using it provide a grain when painting on wood. I will be using to make marks in mixed media painting.
