The hinges seem sturdy enough, but the pin is very short, with limited extension beyond the bottom of the hinge. A circlip or retaining nut would be a good idea. The pin sometimes pops out when the gate is slammed shut, resulting in twisting of the other hinge. The design of the pin socket is not well thought out--plenty of room for deflection as the weight of the gate pulls on the hinge.
