I chose this over the ones that come with the filter. This is worth the extra cost as it fit perfectly with no leaks.Just bolted down using a torque wrench to 12 ft/lbs and it worked just fine.

I have a 1996 class A RV with a 454 Chevy engine. I had a mechanic drop the transmission pan and replace the oil and clean it out. I bought a generic cheap gasket to replace the really nice gasket that’s been on the RV for a long time. Before I replace the gasket it had no leaks. After replacing it with a generic cheap gasket trany pan leak like a sieve. Bought this gasket because it looked like the original gasket. Since replacing with this gasket I’ve had no problems with leaks.

Didn't install yet, but know this works because my salvage yard rebuild had this one and I reused it on the rebuild after I got it in the car. Changed it because I had to remove to check balls and thought it was silly to have all new parts in trans with a junk yard pan gasket. Guess what leaked like a pig after I got pan on with new aftermarket gasket???!!!! Yeah. Got it to stop leaking by tightening bolts very, very snug. Will put new gasket on next time I drop pan for filter change. This gasket was on a junk yard trans and didn't leak one drop on rebuilt trans so like many on forums said is probably true. This is probably the last pan gasket you will ever need. If you don't do your own fluid/filter changes, don't let the grease monkeys at the trans place change this gasket for an aftermarket one!!! You will be sorry!!!
