I've been on the look-out for an inexpensive hose about 5' long that I can keep at the hot water heater to make flushing easier - thus more likely for me to do it regularly. If you are not a regular flusher, however, the smallest diameter of the hose (the fitting to hose connection) is only 3/8" which could be a bit restrictive for larger chunks of sediment. Many who attempt to flush for the first time find their factory provided valve does not open enough to prevent sediment clogs and replace the factory valve with a "full port water heater ball valve", which gives a 3/4" opening from tank to drain. Using this hose, with the maximum 3/8" (.375) opening may be too restrictive. That said, this is sold as a dehumidifier drain, and it would be excellent for that purpose. It appears to have a 1/2" ID hose (5/8" OD). It included an extra washer and some Teflon tape - which you should use if screwing to any sort of metal to prevent galvanic corrosion.

Picked this up to drain water heater in my home. I drain it into my shower for convenience. I do not have an easy access to drain it outdoors so this hose was my best option. It's a little longer than i needed, but it's super easy to cut and it's super flexible and lays out nicely. It coils up really well, so i can just roll it up and leave it coiled up in the space next to my water heater so i don't have to hunt for it when draining water heater or when I need it for any other uses. It has a good brass threaded end on it and the extra washer was a bonus. Fantastic drain hose for whatever you could use it for.

Ordered 3/4 in but got 1in instead. Hose has a strong chemical rubber smell as well. Luckily have an alternate use for it but this causes added expense and delay buying a new hose: again.

I used the hose for my dehumidifier, and it's great for that. The hose material is a tad thin, which would normally be a minus but here there's no water pressure so it's just nicely flexible. It's nylon reinforced and has a reasonable bend radius (2-3 inches) without kinking. It has a brass hose fitting on one end, and a straight cut on the other. It comes with a decent imitation of Teflon tape - it's not quite as thin but it's strong and not crumbly like some of the stuff you find here.I'd give it 5 stars if it came with a threaded fitting for the other end, so you could cut the hose to length and then attach a fitting. The hose diameter is a bit smaller than normal garden hose, so you can't use a garden hose fitting, though there are some irrigation fittings that work.Overall it's nice, especially for the price.

It is an affordable hose that connects to most of the dehumidifier for drainage. Nothing special but does the job fine. It also comes with a small roll of Teflon tape, which is nice.

I'm very satisfied with this item. It's not as flexible as real rubber, but it is more flexible than those cheap plastic hoses. I think it's some sort of "hybrid" material. The brass fitting is high quality.

Needed a drain hose for a GE Dehumidifier. This hose fit the bill and worked well for my use. Female connection is a standard garden hose connector, don't know why they included Teflon tape as the connection is sealed with a garden hose rubber washer. But thanks for the Teflon tape, it has other uses. The hose material is good quality black rubber and difficult to kink. The hose is not fiber reinforced so it is not made for pressurized connections. Working well as a dehumidifier drain. Recommend.

Single ended hose is purpose made for drain and similar applications. We use it for bleeding the zones on our boiler and it works great for that.
