Where to begin? I wanted to try something other than aluminum oxide sanding discs. I got these to try because they were affordable. However I must say that they work with metal and wood buys incredibly well. I have been able to do a surprising amount of stock removal from brass and steel. In fact I was able to do all my parts and some extra parts for a lightsaber build. I am impressed and I will order them again! I will probably he ordering another box of different grit in the next week or two. Thank you!!Ok so after some time with these disc's I have become disappointed. I sanded one 2"×.5"×6" piece of myrtle just now and I have yo swap discs already. Even the super cheap disc's let me finish a whole project of a knife handle, not 25% of one and yhen i need a new disc. I am pretty disappointed. It did work well for steel and brass but its pure sh*t with anything else.

They stay put, cut well, and last a good while. I'd buy them again.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF MATERIAL USED FOR THE BACKING. IT PAYS TO GET GOOD QUALITY ESPECIALLY WHEN WORKING WITH METAL. MOST OF THE CHEAPER DISCS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR WOOD. THESE DISCS ARE VERY WELL MADE AND SEEM TO HOLD UP GOOD GRINDING METAL PARTS

If the abrasive was as good as the adhesive they would be great . poor abrasive.

I had a specific project to do and this worked much better then a silicone carbide discs I was using around 5X times more life on cast iron sanding. I always thought that silicone carbide is superior on metal but quick resarch indicated that zircon is better on metal and they were right.
