Did the trick first try. Had no issues at all. I do however recommend using a small piece of duck tap as the handle tends to slide out from tool when turning it. . Small piece of duck tap solved that issue. .

Used this to press in the 4 piston calipers on my 2008 Tundra and it worked great! Just use the old pads to keep everything straight and it worked perfectly. Just take your time and allow the pistons to retract slowly - Don't try to force them in quickly as it seems some of the other reviewers complained that this tool isn't very sturdy. I did grease up the slide and threads before use as well. Last time I did the brakes I used my friends Snap-on caliper spreader and this worked just as well at a fraction of the price

For its intended use this is fine: a little larger and better made than the competition and for a good price. But I got it to avoid using the old ratcheting tie-down for pulling the carb quad off my Honda CB400f classic bike and pushing them back on. Just put it between the head and the carb bank end carb and spread it to start the process, then move to the other end among sure not to cock the bank too much and maybe damaging the carb-to-head flex tubes. For pushing 'em back on wedge a piece of wood between a frame tube and the spreader and push 'em back on, again alternating to get it started. Use a ratcheting wrench, not the handle. Much more civilized for an old dude (75) than heroic pulling or fussing with the tie-down ratchet. And carb cleaning much less of a dread 😎

I did one caliper just fine. Felt inner washer coming lose. 2nd caliper popped inner washer off of its seat and couldn't hold plate in place. Some how it locked itself on the out position and it bent the hand lever so I had to put the impact on it to loosen it. Might have worked if inner washer was a weld instead. Returned it... Have to find something new. Something stronger... But its always a hit and miss with caliper press tools. Went through many types. They all work well for little while but eventually die...Spend the 💰

The tool works well. I recently used it to compress the pistons of my front and rear 4-piston brake calipers when replacing my brake pads. I experienced zero issues. Ensure that you align the tool with your pistons and do not over-torque the tool.

May 12, 2021 Bought four of these for use in the shop. Three of the four failed on the first use. The forth, we had zero confidence based on the previous three failures. Another example of CCC (Cheaply made Chinese Crap). Avoid, don't buy, stay away from. I cannot emphasis this enough. DO NOT BUY

This brake pad spreader is just okay, I can't recommend it, but I also can't advise against it. It does what it is intended to do somewhat well, but is made out of very inferior materials and the quality just isn't there. Upon taking it out of it's packaging, I immediately got a cut and a metal sliver from the burred screw portion of the brake pad spreader. On the other hand, the price is low enough that these are practically disposable. Mine bent fairly easily on the first use and started to fall apart, but again - at this price they're basically disposable.

been wanting to have one for years, used to use screw driver or handle of a hammer to press the pads in. if you have a cheap one piston brakes, don't bother, you don't need this tool.but if you have a 4, 6, or 8 piston brakes, this is a must, multi piston become very difficult to press all the pistons in. this tool works amazingly.

Easy to use and does work however it seems everytime I use it, the bracket is bent to 10 degrees... Seems tough and doesn't brake but I'm having to use a vice grip to bend it back. Cheap metal I suppose

I like the fact that the design allows me to use this product were a C-clamp would not. I recommend this tool & happy to have purchased it.

I tried them once. No good.... too much play on the extensions. The screw rod is too loose. 1 outta 5
