About this item

  • It is known that fuel is delivered into an engine to mix with the air and produce the power needed for a vehicle. The fuel has to be introduced into engine at a specific time and the amount of fuel entering the cylinder is also crucial in determining the power generated by the engine. While fuel injector is responsible for injecting the fuel into the engine, the system that instructs the injector about the quantity of fuel and the time for injection is the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module).
  • Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) sends an electrical impulse to the injector, to deliver the correct amount of fuel to the engine cylinder at the precise moment it's needed. It's vitally important to the engine's performance and fuel economy. If your truck is experiencing injection fault codes, idling or running rough, no smoke ,or won't start your the FICM may need to be replaced. Replace it and get you 6.0 Powerstroke running right.
  • This Fuel Injection Control Module Fits For the Following Vehicles: 2004-2005 Ford E350 Club Wagon 6.0L; 2004-2010 Ford E350 Super Duty 6.0L; 2004-2010 Ford E450 Super Duty 6.0L; 2003-2007 Ford Excursion 6.0L; 2003-2007 Ford F250 Super Duty 6.0L; 2003-2007 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.0L; 2003-2007 Ford F450 Super Dut 6.0L; 2003-2007 Ford F550 Super Duty 6.0L; 2004-2008 Ford F650 6.0L; 2004-2008 Ford F750 6.0L; 2006-2008 IC Corporation 1300 FBC 7.6L; 2005-2007 IC Corporation 1652 SC 6.0L;

  • This replacement is just what your need to get your vehicle running great again! If you've got a P0611 code and low voltage to your injectors, this could solve the problem. Note: For 2004 model year, Ford revised the design of the FICM. Please remove inspection cover to confirm style. This is only correct for 4-screw (4 Pins) style (Late 04) units. This unit does not need to be reprogrammed after installation, but it is recommended to confirm your vehicle has an up-to-date flash from Ford.

WIRING HARNESS INSPECTION

  • A common area of concern with the 6.0L is chafing of fuel injection harness.
  • Wire chafing can occur between wiring harness and valve covers, intake manifold and mounting bolts.
  • This can result in intermittent poor operating conditions that are difficult to diagnose.
  • Carefully inspect wiring harness and engine contact points.
  • Any damage to harness must be corrected before the FICM is installed.
INSPECT PINS ON THE FICM BEING REMOVED

A common area of failure on the FICM is burnt pins on the 22 pin connector. This is the largest connector of the three. Inspect the FICM being removed for burnt pins. If the pins are burnt it is likely the connector on the injection harness has burnt pin sockets. If not corrected, this will result in damage to the FICM being installed. Replace any burnt socket pins inside the connector plug prior to installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

How to replace the Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM)?

Make sure ignition switch is in OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.

Relieve cooling system pressure. Disconnect and plug or cap the engine vent hose and radiator vent hose.

Remove bolts and position degas bottle aside.

Disconnect the two exhaust pressure (EP) sensor harness pin-type retainers.

Disconnet EP sensor electrical connector and position the harness aside.

Remove two bolts, two nuts and turbocharger intake tube bracket.

Remove FICM bolts.

Disconnect electrical connectors. Remove FICM. CAUTION: Make sure both latches on each connector are released before removing the electrical connectors or connector damage can occur.

Remove FICM from vehicle. Remove rubber mounting bushings and steel spacers from FICM. Inspect and transfer busings and spacers to new FICM.

Works fine. Update Monday going to work truck stalls out misfires and won't go past 1500 rpms. Had to call in to work that I couldn't make it, 3 day's diagnosis to find out this ficm part left me stranded. Replace part with original and trucks running perfectly.
